Hawks receive:  Jaylen Brown, Horford, Pritchard

Pacers receive:  Trae Young, Muscala, Kornet

Raprtors receive:  Myles Turner, Saddiq Bey, pick 26 from Indiana (via Cleveland)

Celtics receive:  Pick 7, pick 32, Anunoby, B. Mathurin, Theis

(Indiana still has picks 29 and 55 and gets a star.)

C's Roster:

Smart, Brogdon, Davison
White, Mathurin
Anunoby, Tatum, Hauser
Tatum, Taylor Hendricks (pick 7), Gallinari
R. Williams, Theis, Gallinari

if not Hendricks with pick 7, shoot for a potential guy over help now (could take Anthony Black and trade Brogdon (etc)
plus pick 32 via Indiana and our own 35.

Ok, here's another trade idea from someone who still thinks we should keep Jaylen. This deepens our roster:

Jaylen and Pritchard for Gary Harris, Franz Wagner, and Wendell Carter Jr. This works in the trade machine. Reshapes the roster.
Reshapes it on a very bad way. Only way you trade brown is if it is for an established star. I do like Wagner and Carter Jr in a vacuum but not if they are the main pieces of a JB trade. It sets the team back significantly.
I think that team is a very solid one. Wagner, to me, can be like a sort of 6'10 Brent Barry on offence, but better defender to boot. Good passing and rebounding, efficient scorer on decent volume. Franz will be good for a long time. Adding those two immediately allows us to reduce the minutes of Al and Rob. Love the balance of that group

Smart / White
Brogdon / Harris
Tatum / Hauser
Wagner / Horford / Gallinari
Carter Jr. / R Williams

Peak Wagner > Peak Brown

magic would never do this.

Wow, that is a big trade. Cool idea. Very interesting.

I believe Indy views Haliburton as their PG and franchise player. I don't think they will be interested in Trae Young. They are more interested in developing Mathurin to play SG next to Haliburton at PG. They feel their offense is at its best when the ball is in Haliburton's hands and he is running the show. I do not think they will want to bring in a player in Trae Young who will take the ball out of Haliburton's hands.

They also use Nembhard (poor man's D White) as SG/PG next to Haliburton. I think they like having size next to Haliburton defensively. Have that defensive combo guard to protect him matchup wise. Trae Young would expose Haliburton more because of Hali's lack of bulk at SG as well as often being exposed himself (Trae).

Toronto is an interesting one. I don't think they swap Anunoby for Myles Turner. Anunoby is more secure there than anyone other than S Barnes. They love him. They turned down 3 first rounders for him at the trade deadline. I don't think Myles Turner is enough to get them to change that stance. Toronto would need more incentive. Maybe if they also got the #7 pick. I don't know.

I don't see M Turner as of being of great value to Toronto. They have Poeltl. Not as good as Turner but good enough to avoid the downgrade from Anunoby to whoever replaces him (S Bey).

Atlanta doing very well in this trade. Jaylen for Trae, fair. Horford and Pritchard for S Bey is a big return.

Interesting trade for Boston.

C's Roster:

Smart, Brogdon, Davison
White, Mathurin
Anunoby, Tatum, Hauser
Tatum, Taylor Hendricks (pick 7), Gallinari
R. Williams, Theis, Gallinari

if not Hendricks with pick 7, shoot for a potential guy over help now (could take Anthony Black and trade Brogdon (etc)
plus pick 32 via Indiana and our own 35.

I really like this idea for Boston. Creative idea.

Instead of going for a proven star or top pick (Scoot), going after two wing players. An up and coming star in Mathurin and one of the best glue guys in the NBA Anunoby. Cool mix. And a high draft pick for another shot at a future above average starter. So a 3 for 1 for Jaylen. Or 3 for 2 if you include Horford.

I love the idea of Mathurin and Anunoby next to Tatum. Mathurin will be the #2 scorer after Tatum. Anunoby the perfect teammate who does the dirty work at forward and makes everything work. Sort of like Marcus Smart when Smart is at his best.

That would be a really fun team to watch.

Probably take a step backwards in the short term while Mathurin and the #7 pick develop. I don't know for how long thought; Mathurin looks pretty close to breaking out as a star scorer. Need some more size next to (or backing up) Rob Williams. Maybe a subsequent trade involving one of the combo guards for a big. That backcourt is a bit packed with Mathurin coming in as well as the three combo guards anyway.

When we finally see Jaylen play again, there will be happiness throughout Celtics-land that he’s still here.

People will find a way to complain, even if they win a ring.

Keeping Jaylen is better than trading him for a lesser player.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Looks like Jaylen isn’t going anywhere, at least for another year.

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/271997/Celtics-Dont-Intend-To-Trade-Jaylen-Brown-Expected-To-Agree-To-Supermax
If I’m not mistaken they don’t HAVE to agree to the whole $295 million contract. I think they could do something in between the $200 or so he could get with another team and the $295. I would hope they could agree on something like $250 million. It would free up some money to add the pieces around him, and I’d assume JB couldn’t be arrogant enough to think he’s worth the highest contract in NBA history.

I disagree, I don't think people will complain if they win a ring - that's all that matters. Guys from that '08 team are immortalized in history. In Red Sox lore, people even let JD Drew off the hook after the Sox won a WS.

Yeah, that reshapes the roster nicely. I don't want to trade Jaylen but here's another trade idea: Jaylen and PP to the Pels for Ingram, Willy Hernangomez, and Jose Alvarado...
No way you squeeze Alvarado in there. They love him. I think Brown + Gallo for Ingram + Hernangomez would be fair value, but I doubt NOP is interested in a move that doesn't get them Scoot.

I do like this group though.

Smart / Pritchard
White / Brogdon
Ingram / Hauser
Tatum / Horford
Williams 3 / Hernangomez

Don't we have similar chemistry issues between Ingram and Tatum that we had between Brown and Tatum? We get a little bigger, and I guess salary wise it is better, but doesn't seem to address chemistry.  Trying to picture Tatum and Ingram on court together.
Ingram is a significantly better passer. He might even be a better passer than Tatum is. He is also a better 3PT shooter, and is much better at drawing fouls.

I don't think it runs into the same issues because Ingram is a different player to Brown. Improved offensive possessions through better shooting, passing and foul generating.

I do not see him making an All-NBA team, however.

Bill Simmons suggested a trade: Scoot and Gordon Hayward in exchange for Jaylen Brown. I must admit, although I think it's smarter to stick with Jaylen and make some small adjustments to improve our chances of winning the championship, this trade caught my attention due to its potential impact on our salary cap and the upcoming collective bargaining agreement. It would be great to acquire a talented player on a rookie contract, especially considering our ownership's reluctance to spend excessively for a championship.

I'm also drawn to the possibility of a redemption tale. If Gordon Hayward can stay injury-free for a season and they manage to win the championship, the painful memory of his terrible fall in October of 2017 might just fade away completely.
Man, that's an interesting one. I love Gordon Hayward. He is, very sadly, made of glass, but I love what he provides when he suits up.

Giving up Brown for Scoot and potentially a lone (and likely injured) season of Hayward would be a huge gamble
