Speaking of Jaylen Brown trade ideas that had me confused. I saw an article where the trade proposal was Kawhi for Brown, Smart, and a 2026 1st. There is no doubt that Kawhi is the best player in that proposal. However, he may also be the most unreliable player in the history of sports. You simply don't know if he us going to play from game to game. Can you imagine having Kawhi and Timelord on the same team. We wouldn't know if 2/5 of the starting lineup would play.

Can someone explain to me why Charlotte would trade an arguably better player in Lamelo Ball (who is still on a rookie contract), for Jaylen Brown (who is eligible for a max extension)? I've seen this idea floated around in other threads too, and it makes no sense.

It's really all about, who they like in the draft.  If they like Scoot, then draft Scoot, keep Terry, and trade for Jaylen.  It helps them a lot!  There are many articles as to the why's behind Charlotte.  The better why is, why should the C's?

I know everyone is down on brown right now but lamelo is not arguably a better player than him (neither is garland). Lamelo is quite poor defensively and has had very questionable shot selection at times while playing for a lousy team.

I really like the idea of bringing Terry Rozier back to Boston. Trading one of our combo guards for Rozier (preferably Brogdon) and bring the old gang back together again.

I like the way Rozier plays as a contrast to our other guards. Smart and D White both more defensive minded guards. Rozier more of a scorer. I feel Rozier would work very well next to them and help give the team better balance. I also like his mentality more than Brogdon's mentality. That feisty never-say-die attitude. A fighter. Rozier fits our team's mentality better than Brogdon.

"Drew Bledsoe". Never backing down from a challenge.

More aggresive than Brogdon. What did Ainge call it? An instigator? Terry is an instigator. Brogdon isn't.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second, if I could flip Brown for Lamelo. BTW, I think a lot of people over value Brown as a defensive player. As far as being a playmaker and having basketball instincts, the two are not even remotely close.

BTW, I have been in the trade Brown camp for years now. It's his lack of basketball instinct that drives me nuts, and will limit his effectiveness. I've wanted to cash in on his potential as a key trade chip, before everyone realizes his limitations.

He hasn't shown he is deserving of all-defense teams, but in moments he is very good. We don't beat the Sixers without his defense on Harden. We don't make it to game 7 against the heat without his defense on Butler.

In spurts, he is excellent. I would prefer getting someone else that can reliably take shot creation responsibilities and moving Brown into the 3rd scorer role. I think he could be even more efficient (and he already is very good) working off of other people. From there, Brown should be able to focus on defense, and I think he could be an all-defensive type player.

The problem is Brown has the chance to be the highest paid player in the league, and your talking about relegating him to be a 3rd scorer role. If he was truly deserving of being a second team All NBA player, the Celtics wouldn't have needed 6 games to put away Atlanta, go to 7 games with Philadelphia, or ever being down 3-0 to Miami.

And BTW, this may be the worst home court team in playoff history. Something is wrong with this team, and it's on the players. I'm not putting this solely on Brown, but he is part of the problem, and consequently, his trade value can be part of the solution.

We can’t trade for a better weapon than JB .

Let’s see how he does when his body heals up and he can control the ball better.

Agreed...He is way overrated.   Kind of like Smart.

It would appear Brown is a better Basketball player, than you are at convincing people of your argument.  JK

Saw where there’s rumors in Houston where Celtics trade Brown to Rockets for #4 & #20 pick..bad trade if that happens, we be 6 or 7 best team in East

Anything less than Green and 4 and we shouldn't take the call. The Rockets probably don't want to do that so it should be a non starter.

There would have to be a lot more salary in that trade. I don't see how the Rockets get there.

Brown could be traded into their cap space without matching salary. Not saying I think that should happen, but it is possible. This would also create a trade exception the size of Jaylen Brown's contract.
