Washburn:

Jaylen Brown is biting his tongue from telling his truth. You can tell he has a lot on his mind. There's some real issues in that locker room.

People thought Jaylen’s interview answers during the season (NY Times and another outlet) were about the city and fans but I wonder if there’s a lot of stuff in the locker room he’s not a fan of either. Maybe he was against the Mazzulla hiring to begin with for example.

Watching the interview JAylen is definitely holding back on things.

anything specific?

Reporter: Joe said it was on him to prepare the team better. What’s your though on that?

Jaylen: (Long pause) I think it’s a collective effort.

If I may take a stab at it, I feel the players didn’t like it that they were kept in the dark with the Ime situation. All of those guys probably loved Ime and for him to be gone without a clear reason (for them at least), that must have been too much to handle. And to top it off, seeing the Rockets get Ime may make you ask “If another team thinks Ime is qualified to be their coach, why then was he let go?”.

ok thanks, those interviews after the team quit in the middle of the ECF can't be easy for players or coaches.

He had long pauses to questions about whether Joe had lost the team, whether it was Joes fault for not preparing them, why they lost their defensive identity. Almost like he was trying to choose his words really carefully.

Of course he could just have been shell shocked

Wonder what he knows that he hasn’t been telling us then. Because 3 games ago we were all riding high after a game 7 win against the Sixers.

Lol the entire vibes from these postgame interviews make it feel like it’s an actual “end of season” presser. It’s that bad. Team really quit

Maybe Tatum is pro Joe and smart and brown are not.

Clearly a division in the lockerroom

Or more likely a little bit of both.  It has to suck going to those interviews after that pile of dog poop that the team left on the court.
At least I am glad Jaylen isn't throwing Joe under the bus.  If all this stuff is true, is that the reason that the ownership didn't want to add players for the TPE or made any bigger moves to help a championship level team (or so we thought at the time)

Oh come on man, Tatum can't still be in the pro Joe camp at this point?

They sound like a beaten team, there’s no defiance. I guess they know how daunting the task in front of them is

That’s been the rumor. CBS hired him because he’s Tatum’s preferred guy and probably extended him around the ASB because vibes were great and the trio (Jays + Mazz) were headed to Utah for All Star Weekend. I don’t think Brogdon is a Mazzulla guy either
