Says he thinks a bit of the defensive identity has been lost, the connectivity and the physicality has been lost

Washburn asks if he has lost the team, has there been a disconnect, he says there is a disconnect, he has to be better to figure out how to make them more connected defensively, and to make sure they know what they’re trying to do offensively

It’s amazing how the team with the second best record in the league can be “disconnected” this late in the post season. I guess it’s really the players’ individual talents that got the team this far. As one poster in the game thread said, this worked until we finally faced a team that was coached well.

Serious question, how the heck was D White 2nd team all defense?? Yeah he gambles and gets some steals and has some good blocks for a guard, but the dude is a complete turnstile on ball defender. There's a reason jimmy butler sought him out ALL game long. Id love to see what players are shooting when covered by him, but then again he gives up so easily that the help defender is usually the closest defender so not sure the advanced stats would show it accurately

I've wondered this, as well. I almost wonder if his constant getting beat off the dribble actually makes it easier for him to get the come from behind blocks and steals and everything that are more "flashy" defensive plays.
It seriously looks like it. Especially tonight he kept letting Butler waltz right by and would trail him and do absolutely nothing.
Also has anyone else noticed D White kind of runs around like jack sparrow? He runs about with his arms kind of flailing and almost has a skip to his step, its hilarious
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

That's what Washburn was getting at when he asked Joe if he had lost the team, that things that he was saying to the team that were working in February aren't working now. It does look like he's lost the team in a sense that they look leaderless. They don't seem to be responding to him, for all we know they're trying to get him fired

Jaylen Brown is biting his tongue from telling his truth. You can tell he has a lot on his mind. There's some real issues in that locker room.

Congratulations Boston Celtics front office !

Wow ……are you happy now  extracted your wrath on Ime Udoka

Sacrificed coach Udoka and the Boston Celtics fan base and legacy

Wyc ….are you. Really that dumb and brain dead ?

No one asked the players …….they should have sit down and let their feelings be known never played the first game until a just resolution was found so as not to destroy the Celtics.

I do feel sorry for Joe …..it wasn’t his job or team ….he step into a awkward awful mess.

Just to be clear I believe the coach is a problem

BUT I won’t absolve the players either. They are also to be blamed. It’s been the same core players choking over the past 5-6 years with 3 different coaches now.

Jaylen Brown is biting his tongue from telling his truth. You can tell he has a lot on his mind. There's some real issues in that locker room.

That's going to be the focus of Washburn's article tonight, the fact that Joe has lost the team and there's poop going on in the locker room and it's all coming out now under adversity. Every question he's asked tonight of Joe, Al and Jaylen has been about that.

People thought Jaylen’s interview answers during the season (NY Times and another outlet) were about the city and fans but I wonder if there’s a lot of stuff in the locker room he’s not a fan of either. Maybe he was against the Mazzulla hiring to begin with for example.

Watching the interview JAylen is definitely holding back on things.

I'm so glad Washburn and all these guys are now questioning the Celtics, and the Celtics are now facing adversity. This oughta rile up Wyc and/or Stevens.

Done with the mess Joe has made and quite frankly some of these players too

so maybe that joking conversation about the players tanking in the playoffs to get their coach replaced is true? omg
even if you hate what the coach is doing, that lack of effort was pathetic...
