Love how Joe moved away from running game through Tatum in the 4th- brilliant
He didn't actively move away from it. The better coached team adjusted and took it away. Joe is just futile at trying to counter the adjustment, per usual.
This is where your 2nd option should come into play. The opposition forces the ball out of your main guy's hands (strong side of ball), it swings to the weakside where your 2nd guy should get it and he should be the guy to make the play.
I mentioned this long ago about Shaq and Kobe. Teams would force it away from Shaq. Then Kobe had to take over. He had to be the playmaker. Not just the shot-maker but the playmaker. He had to be able to do both. That is why someone like Rashard Lewis (a shot maker but not a playmaker) was never a legit #2 for Dwight Howard in Orlando.
That is also why Jaylen often struggles as a #2 because he cannot be relied upon to be a playmaker. He is only a scorer. He is more like Rashard Lewis than he is Kobe Bryant.
