It is going to be important to get bench production out of White, Brogdan.
I hope there is a place for Grant in this series. Celtics are pretty much playing a 7 man rotation that I'd like to see that expanded to 8 or 9.

I do think you can play Hauser in this series. He could give them an outside shot...If Robinson can play, Sam can play.

we were gassed in the finals last year and we still coulda won had we not had 15 turnovers a game. we need to play 8 or 9. they are good enough to spell others. keep them fresh.  hope we sweep to get a rest before finals but i will predict 7 games with how this team acts.

a 7 game war.

I meant to put Celtics in 7 but clicked Heat in 7 accidentally.

On paper, this shouldn't even be a competition. But the Milwaukee series shouldn't have been, either.

are celtics fans really this negative?  :o

not saying it will be an easy series. but the amount of fans picking the heat to win. and win convincingly in 5-6 games on a Boston forum is honestly shocking to me.

you might think we are facing the bucks on the road...

Heat in 5 is my vote, and it's entirely facetious.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnndddddddddddd...............................the heat beat the bucks in 5! We cannot overlook them or be complacent. Bam  is a beast and butler is dangerous. Depends if all those 3 point shooters can hit at a high rate or not. they did not look great against the knicks but they got by. The heat have not lost a home game all playoffs.

let's be ready for a 7 game war.

When the Celtics show up, they are probably the worst matchup for the Heat.   They don't have the defenders for both Tatum and Brown.   (Losing Tucker hurts them in this matchup)

The Celtics need Horford to be able to get in the Center of the Zone and make the right passes.   There is no way the Heat try to play man to man defense all series.

I hope the keep showing them the missed Butler three from last year to show how close they were to losing to this team last year.

so you think they keep bam down low to rim protect and play 2-3 or 1-3-1 zone? if so that is even more reason for us to play PP and hauser to be zone busters especially if Jt or JB and MB are cold from 3.

Only way Miami wins is if boston helps them. They are bad match up for the Heat

The best way they beat the zone is to get the ball to someone at the top of the key and have the zone collapse and have that person pass the ball out.

So yes, Horford is perfect in such a role where he is a threat to hit from there, a good passer and has the size to see over the defense.

And when the Heat go man, he pulls his man out of the paint.

The last thing I want to see against the zone is just passing it around the outside hoping one shooter gets a little space.

Jimmy Butler shot 11% from three in the New York series. That is amazing. I hope he keeps that up. But their two top guns are Butler and Adebayo. Those two right now may be better than Embiid and Harden on Philly.  But I think Philly overall is better than Miami, even considering how Miami is playing recently.

We need to expose Love and Zeller. Bam will be trouble, but their depth guys are not good. Love has been decent, but he'll get cooked defensively. Horford, Timelord and even G-Will should have big series if you ask me. Timelord does give Bam fits, it's just last season he had to miss two games during the ECF to injury management. And in 2020, Kanter/Theis vs. Bam? Lol.

We have 2 of the top 3 players in this matchup and the players behind them are not even close to the same league.

We should win this in 5 but I am guessing it will most likely take 6 or 7. If Tatum continue the stretch he had vs the Sixers, we could sweep them.

I can get used to us fighting to get the finals every year with Tatum and Brown in Green. We are still not in their prime all though Brown will be stepping into the prime next year.

Jaylen is 26, and Tatum just turned 25. It'll cost 600M, but they would be idiots not to give them both supermaxes and ride with them for the next decade, if not longer.

FWIW, I didn't realize but Embiid turns 30 next season. That shocked me. I thought he was like 27 but he's older than I thought. Butler is 33. Curry is 34. Giannis turns 29 soon. We are fortunate to have two guys who have had a ton of experience already, but theoretically haven't even hit their peak years yet (usually between 27-30 y/o)

I was trying to see who next season in the East would challenge Boston...

Bucks and Sixers will go backwards
Heat can't survive with roster. It is a nice little story now but you cannot sustain or win a title with that roster.
Knicks seem to be several pieces short
Maybe the Cavs?
