No need to play embiid game 2. Sixers got what they wanted and will go home at least 1-1.

They will roll out embiid in game 3.
That's the smart move.  Get Embiid 4 more days of rest and treatment.

DISGUST

BROGDON NICE PASS TO MAXEY

WAY TO BLOW THE BLOCKING CALL ON SMART REFS

This game should have never come down to those two plays.

This game shouldn’t have come down to that but if you consistently watch this team was it not obvious that of course it was going to come down to that? This game was a clear loss all along

The sad part is, most of us here knew this was coming days ahead of time.
The Atlanta series was the clue.

This team just doesn't learn form its mistakes. It's incredible. The San Diego SuperCeltics. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
Is it mistakes or have they been ruined by the coach? They have been giving up way too many points all season. They are able to clamp down at times but the default has become they don't.

Seriously though why is Rob only playing 20 minutes?

Had more rebounds then Al, plays better defensively and to be honest his lob threat is more valuable then Horfords shooting in a game like this.

Brogdon just frustrates me with certain things too man, like he literally stands there and allows guys to drive to basket for layups... at least try and challenge or make an effort for some help D.

JT looked like he was on the verge of tears after that last foul. If this loss doesn’t sting I don’t know what will. This should serve as an eye opener that they need to play good basketball for the entire game.

The lack of discipline, lazy passing, ISO plays at the end of the game, no adjustment to the zone, zero defense.  These guys are vets, but the coach allows this.

The same players have done this for three coaches now.  I think it’s time to question the team’s leaders.

It's all part of Joe's master plan

Hard to watch at the end. But, I have to give it to Harden! He lit it up! Not really sure what it means for the series honestly, this team always seems to play better from behind. We will see, but, that was a great game!
I understand everyone is frustrated, but we played well, Tatum and Brown started forcing things at the end of the game, but for the most part they passed the ball much better tonight!
Hand it to Harden and the Sixers for playing a hell of a game. On to game 2!

A good question is why we've sucked so much at home since last year in the playoffs.  Our road record is better than our home record.

That said, I'm not that impressed with Philly.  Harden managed to turn back the clock and beat us individually.  They only had 17 assists as a team.  The key was they didn't turn the ball over (or we didn't play good enough defense to force turnovers).

This team's mentality has been long broken since post-ASG. They are coasting and the coaching is abysmal. I rather let him walk and get a bag of potato chips instead

I don’t get the Joe blame. This team has played with the same attitude under THREE coaches now.

I’m not particularly worried about the series, but they clearly are NOT learning from their past. Not last series, not last season. They let teams off the hook time and time again.

They will blow the brakes off the Sixers next game but when will the next embarrassing loss come? Hopefully they got this series’ one out of the way tonight.

That is simply untrue. They did not play like this last year. They ALWAYS brought the effort, especially defensively, because they had a competent, true leader that held them accountable.

What is the same is the end-game lack of execution and boneheaded plays, and this team has quite a bit larger margin of error given the higher talent level, which allows them to keep it close or squeak out wins even when playing with subpar effort.

But it's simply untrue that the attitude has been the same. Ime had them playing the right way with the right effort 99% of the time, and they just didn't yet have enough experience and talent to win it all. But it was never a lack of effort or intensity or focus like this.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

They just won without their best player on a night we shot very well in the 1st half.

I didn't get to watch until the 4th.  I see Dedmon and Harrell didn't play.  Did Doc played Tucker at the 5 for the 11 minutes Reed was off court?  If so, very smart decision.
