Spurs fans have to be grinning ear to ear right now.

I saw a lot of Spurs fans who were sadder to see White go than Murray.  At the time, that surprised me.  I think I get it now.

White is just such a great team player.  Meanwhile Murray is starting pointless beef with rookies and missing playoff games over silly behavior.  Kid is good but he has a lot of maturing to do.

What was the pointless beef with a rookie incident ?

I kind of thought he was mad at Tatum’s dunk with 30 seconds to go.  He gave Tatum and then Brown pretty hard take fouls to extend the game.  Not sure why he went over to the ref, but he was clearly riled at more than one person.

I don't remember the exact details but he was beefing with Banchero during/after a pro am game last summer
I'm bitter.

No. At least it doesn't deserve a suspension. Murray barely brushed against the ref. Murray is out of line and probably warrants a fine but not a suspension.

I don't think so

Do I feel he should be suspended? No it was soft, even if he initiated it

Sorry, all these comments are mistaken. The severity of the contact is irrelevant.

So do you think Tatum will be suspended too?

BTW, is there a video of Tatum bumping the ref? After seeing the video of Murray, I'd like to see the Tatum hit because I just don't remember seeing it.

thanks roy for the video on tatum. after watching it i think tatum should have been ejected from the game immediately. he pushed the ref, not just accidental contact.

so, yes, for the incidents under discussion, i think an ejection for tatum and a suspension for murray are warranted.

a pox on both their playing times.  ;D

I was on here a few weeks ago speculating about Jaylen Brown's future.  If Brown really wanted to be in Atlanta, maybe the C's could trade him for Murray (personally I was thinking double sign and trade, others were throwing out trades for this coming offseason though).

Getting a deeper look at him and his personality with this playoff series though, ya I wouldn't want to touch him.  I was thinking he was a better version of DWhite, and even though not as good as Jaylen, would help soften the blow of losing Jaylen (similar to replacing Kyrie with Kemba)  My opinion has changed.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray said “a lot” led to him making contact with and shouting at referee Gediminas Petraitis following his team’s Game 4 loss to the Boston Celtics in their Eastern Conference first-round series. The incident led to a one-game suspension for Murray as the Hawks face elimination down 3-1 in Game 5 on Tuesday night.

Murray believed he and Petraitis didn’t have the type of relationship he enjoys with other officials. “A lot of ignoring, a lot of brushing me off, brushing my teammates off when asking questions of how we could be better,” Murray said. “And even just with that individual, it goes back to San Antonio, where, I don’t know why that person treated me the way he treated me over the years. And what I mean by treated me [is], I’m just a guy who likes to have conversation, especially with the referees. You ask 98 percent of the refs why they greet me before games, and they’ll tell you because I’m one of the most respectful ones. I don’t cry about calls, I don’t disrespect them, call them out their names, none of that.”

“I’m a grown man, and I hold my own and I take full responsibility for not being able to play for my teammates, and the fans and just the organization as a whole,” Murray said Tuesday while addressing the suspension for the first time. “But at the end of the day, there’s a lot that led up to that, and I think a lot of players could relate to those frustrations.” – via Coley Harvey @ ESPN

My guess is he’s going to keep having trouble with that particular official.

Yes, severity is irrelevant. But who initiates is very relevant.  The ref initiated the contact with Tatum; I think that matters. If the ref had initiated the contact with Murray, then he would not have deserved a suspension.

As a person on a team ,  don’t want to be on the refs poo list .  Games are hard enough if they respect you .

That’s our job to razz them

Hawks fans are pretty mad Tatum got nothing. Tbh I'm also a bit surprised he didn't get fined at least. Doesn't even sound like the league reviewed the Tatum incident, it's barely been talked about while Murray has been a lot.

League reviewed it, determined it was a non-issue.

Oh okay I stand corrected then. No complaints here  ;D
