The Nuggets pummeled the Suns. That was... unexpected

Nuggets have been underrated all year despite their record, no?

The consensus before the playoffs was an expected finals between the Nuggets and the Celtics.
How is this unexpected? And also, there are games to go, who knows the Suns can turn it around.

I’m not sure that’s true.  People were big on the Suns going in and falling over themselves praising the Lakers.

I picked the Nuggets to win the series, but I was still surprised by the rout.

I have a feeling the Suns are getting smoked this series. Man, KD's career has been a disaster since leaving Golden State...

Not unexpected at all. The Suns are a soft team with plenty of questionable defenders

I pick Clippers to win against Suns but then Kawhi got hurt..suns has no bench & KD & Paul playing 48 minutes takes a toll
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I wonder if the Nuggets team passing and movement is too much for a Suns team that hasn't played all that much together (KD only 8 reg season gms). That Phoenix hasn't developed enough chemistry / defensive understanding to handle all that ball movement.

It was nice to see Cam Payne and T Ross get a couple of minutes at the end of the game. Now if only Monty Williams would play his best bench players as part of his regular rotation.

NY won 3 of the 4 regular season contests with Miami.

2 of the games were won by only 2pts though. So very close and could have gone either way. The other 2 games were decided by less than 10pts so no blowouts. All close games. Two were nailbiters.

As to the Suns-Nuggets, most people on here were saying things like, Denver can't win in the playoffs because of their defense.  I had Denver as the favorite out of the west all along.  PHX is still a wild card.  They have a lot of top end talent on that team, but they have not been together for very many games.  I would not be stunned either way but I like Denver.  Denver has all their horses this year and I think they play plenty of defense to win in the playoffs.

I am really torn on the NYK-MIA series.  I see NYK as the better team (Randle injury notwithstanding) but Jimmy Butler is clearly the best player.  Randle is going to miss at least game 1, giving MIA a chance to steal a game in NY.  This is starting out much like the MIL series and MIL is a better team than the Knicks.

I guess I still think NYK is the better team, based on the assumption that Randle only misses 1 game, but I could see a scenario where MIA wins the series on the back of Butler, if Randle misses more than 1 game and/or isn't really 100%.

It's great to see the Knicks in the mix. With New York on the map, everything feels more intense.

Yeah I just didn't think it would be a rout. Maybe a close loss. But the Suns should bounce back.
