So in one day, Ja Morant, Giannis, and Herro all go out with serious injuries. Tough day for the NBA.
Can you blame the play-in?  Morant and Giannis with a week off, and Miami playing every other day in elimination games.  Probably not the best for the body in either situation.

They all seemed kinda freak accidents though. Herro dove for a ball, and Giannis and Morant fell awkwardly after charging into the paint.

Those injuries had nothing to do with fatigue or the play-in. It's all about blocks vs charges and how the NBA game has evolved with the current rules.

Yeah agreed.  Herro dove for a loose ball and broke his hand.  Giannis and Ja went down hard   to the ground.  These injuries can happen to anyone at any time.  I think players hustle, play faster and harder in the playoffs that can lead to more injuries like this.  Just a case of bad luck.  Giannis and Ja might both miss game 2 but Herro is done for the playoffs.

Kevin Durant looks absolutely horrible, useless on defense

The Suns may have been better off with Bridges. Both Dallas and Phoenix may end up regretting those blockbuster mid-season trades.

The thing is, when you are used to playing every couple of days and take a week off, your body sometimes isn't the same.  Perhaps that fraction of a second Morant and Giannis may have been off, may have put them in a position to get hurt.  In the case of Herro, they do play 3 games in 5 nights, but they aren't elimination games and then a near must win game 1 in a playoff series.  Those are very intense games that you will play at no other time in a season unless you go down 3-1 or 3-0 in a series (and keep winning).

Maybe there isn't a correlation at all, but that is 3 major injuries all in game 1.  I can't remember the last time that happened.

So tired of seeing that clown Haslem waive his pom poms on the sideline. The free rides almost over for that hanger onner. He's been the NBA's highest paid cheerleader for about half a decade now.

Me too. The guy hasn't been useful on the court since 2014-15. That is 8 years ago!!!

It is insane he has been kept on that roster all this time to be a good voice in the locker room. 8 years!

As a Florida alum, I like that an old Gator is still hanging on.  We think of Gator Al Horford as an old guy, but Haslem played four years and graduated before Horford even started college.  However, it does seem like Miami could have freed up a roster spot and just made him an assistant coach a few years ago.

It is surprising that they weren't playing better than they were with Bridges there + that Bridges wasn't playing better than he was. He had chances to show more when guys were hurt but still came nowhere close to what he is doing in BKN.

Looks like the Clippers are getting bad Westbrook tonight. He’s killing them.. Not sure how Ty Lue is letting him lead the team in shot attempts. Just ridiculous.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Might be the system, as his efficiency is similar, he is just taking way more shots basically from all 3 ranges i.e. 2, 3, and FT.

Man, if LAC can get through Phoenix without PG, they’ve got to be the favorite to come out of the West. They’d be a fun but tough matchup with us.

It sounded like the coach there was trying to get more shots, get more involved and give him a bigger role offensively on the team. Both this and last season. Both times having little success.

I wonder how well his newfound productivity would translate on a team with better scoring options around him. Would Bridges shrink away again? Or could he maintain it?
