Devin McCourty just announced his retirement.

Felt inevitable. Thanks for everything DMac!  ;D

Indeed—thanks, DMac!

P Jake Bailey released by the Patriots. Just fell off after getting injured and his suspension problems

Scary thing is, he wasn't even our worst punter this season. Watching Pallardy made me appreciate the good punters around the league a whole lot more

The Pats have had good special teams players for decades. It really stands out when this isn’t the case.

Apparently, the Packers-Jets deal for Aaron Rodgers is essentially done. Now just waiting for Rodgers if he wants to be a Jet.

And if he does, Jets may be in the running for the division, with the Bills.

The Jets won’t be in the running for anything. NYC media will eat Rodgers alive.

I don't think it's a given Buffalo even wins the division. Now granted, NYJ still needs to add a QB regardless. But I'm surprised not much is being made about the Bills losing their DC and likely losing a lot of their defensive talent. And despite that, MIA and NYJ each won against BUF last season and NYJ was close to sweeping them if Mike White wasn't hurt/hobbled.

I know people talk about Josh Allen and the offense only putting up 10 points against the Bengals, but the biggest thing watching that playoff game was Burrow and the Bengals just shredding BUF's defense all game. And that defense is projected to get worse.

Josh Allen will keep the Bills a contender for sure, but I don't think the Bills are as invincible as people thought last season. I think the Chiefs and Bengals are the cream of the crop in the AFC.

Looks like the Dolphins are about to acquire CB Ramsey from the Rams, per Rapoport

From a cost standpoint, its certainly a no brainer for Miami.  Ramsey's been slipping, though.

Ramsey is an overrated ballhawk. Xavien Howard is the best CB on MIA.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Can't say I'm surprised.

Sources: The #Patriots are trading TE Jonnu Smith to the #Falcons, as a former big-ticket free agent heads elsewhere and creates space for New England.

EDIT: For a 7th rounder.

The Patriots are trading Jonnu Smith to the Falcons for a seventh-round pick, per source (
@RapSheet
first on the trade). Smith is reunited with Falcons coach Arthur Smith, and will restructure his contract.

I'm actually surprised they managed to get out of that contract. It's a shame it didn't work out. Hope Jonnu finds some of that Titans success with the Falcons now.

This does seem to indicate to me that the Pats will target a TE, either in FA or the Draft. No way they are going with just Henry

What a bust. Though, to be fair, I don't think the coaching staff did a great job utilizing him.
