As a fan, how do you approach games like tonight?

So, tonight we look heavily outmatched against the Bucks, primarily due to injuries.  Under healthier circumstances, this would be a "must watch" game.

But tonight, I don't really have any intention of tuning in at tip-off.  I expect us to get creamed, and there's nothing even a little enjoyable about seeing a key rival beat up on our bench. 

That said, the "hospital Celtics" have stepped up before, so I'm not necessarily counting us out.  I'll monitor the game online, and if we're within striking distance, I'll watch.

What's your plan?  And more generally, on nights when the Celts are getting blown out, do you tune out?

I'm going to enjoy watching the young guys run. I hope it'll be an experience for our bench and deep bench guys. It we win great but I'll be watching for watching our guys to run with the Bucks!

I’m an optimist so I always look for silver linings.  That said, today being Valentine’s Day, the silver lining is probably that I won’t be missing much of a game as I put my spouse before the Celtics for an evening.

But if I’m watching a game, I’m watching to the bitter end, always convinced that the most recent basket or stop will be the one that sparks a run to victory.

I'll be watching and hoping to see the bench brigade look better than expected against Milwaukee while being frustrated that we're likely throwing away a game in the HCA fight -- especially with concerns to a head-to-head tiebreaker a possible issue at the end of the season.

Similar (but opposite scenario) recently.

C's had a game that I was planning on watching, but work/family stuff got in the way.  It's okay to miss this game though, the C's should win no problem.  Probably won't even be a good game.  And it wasn't.  OKC 150, Boston 117.


Games like tonight, I go in hoping to see something from a young guy. 20/10 from Pritchard or Davison, something like that.  But if life gets in the way, it's not a game I worry about missing, and I'll just catch the highlights/read the recap.

I always watch, not always live (since it's V-day) but even when we lose I watch the replay...maybe I'm a masochist but those are the games I usually learn the most from. I find in games like these, where we're not expected to win, there's no pressure watching and I can look at the game more as a neutral would, and see which of these guys will step up and show they can be relied upon in April and May. So I'm definitely going to be watching

If they win this type of game, that's awesome. If they get blown out, that's understandable, given all the absences. What would kind of annoy me is if the Cs manage to stay in it all the way until the last minute and then lose—I hate being teased, LOL.

And I almost never watch highlights of a loss.

I didn’t think the C’s were going to beat Philly few games ago considering Rob and Al were out and then JB went down before halftime and they still won. Thought Embiid was going to have a 50pt and 20reb game. Anything can happen.

This may not be a game for young children to watch .  I’m against showing live murder on TV.

for games such as this one, i will mostly watch the boxscore just to see who is playing well, etc.

but if the celtics manage to look as if they are winning, i will tune in. this will reduce my stress levels. 

but i doubt i will be in the game thread here for fear of excessive moaning and lamenting and complaining.
