Three-time champion Danny Green is nearing an agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his agent/attorney Raymond Brothers of @RocNationSports tells ESPN. The Cavs can offer Green significant opportunity to make an impact on a playoff team.

I wonder if he ends up starting there.

If the Cavs are so desperate as to need to start Danny Green, they aren’t an actual contender.

He was a starting caliber player before this latest injury. Still might be.

I think playing time really matters and the fact is, he'd get more playing time in Cleveland than Boston. Oh well. Hope it's Barton or Johnson now. After that though, I really don't think there's another option

The Cavs potentially have an impressive bench

G: Garland, Rubio
G: D Mitchell, C Levert
F: Okoro, Danny Green
F: E Mobley, K Love
C: J Allen, R Lopez

Rubio back from a long term injury. Kevin Love has struggled this season; they need to get him right. R Lopez extra useful size. Caris Levert a low quality offensive creator. Danny Green a 3+D option.

They have gone between Okoro (defender only) and C Levert as starters. I don't like Levert as a starter. Too many hands to feed in that starting lineup. That is also why I believe Danny Green has a chance to win that starting spot once he gets his body back into shape.

It is an interesting mix. Not a sure-fire thing ... because Love is struggling, Rubio & D Green have only just returned from long term absences. D Green is older too. Rubio has always struggled with his shot. Levert has always been a stat-padder on bad teams in my book so I have always questioned how well he fits there now that they have more offensive creators.

Still, a few things go right for them and that could be one of the better benches in the league. Lot of question marks though.

Reggie Jackson was a great get for Denver

G: Jamal Murray, Reggie Jackson
G: K Caldwell-Pope
F: Michael Porter Jr, Bruce Brown
F: Aaron Gordon
C: Nikola Jokic, Thomas Bryant

They now have a solid 8 man rotation. Some Jeff Green as a 9th man option. I am not that convinced by T Bryant but the top 7 guys are very good. Hopefully Bryant will be sufficient.

The Denver Nuggets are amazing. Best starting line-up. This year could be Jokic' his first title.

Think there may be a few Celtics fans who don't agree with you.

I'd be pretty happy with Stanley Johnson...

Well, we still have Barton or Johnson out there, or even Snell in a pinch.

That said, Hauser's re-emergence is making it questionable whether a backup wing truly is needed.

I also wonder whether we're looking more for a scoring punch or the three and D type?
