Can we get Cam Johnson for the TPE and a 1st? He'd be a great fit.

I think he’d cost two firsts.  He’s a restricted free agent and thus controllable for many years.

I’d offer that then. Win now baby!!

Agreed! Sometimes you have to over pay! He can fill in for Jaylen while he heals up.

According to B-Robb, the C's offered Pritchard, Gallinari and 2nd round picks for Poeltl

Obviously what they got from Toronto was better.

Does make me think CBS is willing to make a move but not give up any first round picks. Which I sort of understand. We don't have any until 2025

What's the rationale for a team obviously in a win right now mode to trade a guy for future assets who is scoring 14 points in 25 mpg and shooting the 3 at a great clip?  Seems he can contribute to their championship aspirations this year.
The Nets have added Bridges and Johnson to Harris, O'Neal, Simmons and Finney-Smith. Bridges and Johnson are probably the two best players, but there just aren't enough minutes there.

Yeah, if they could actually get him for even two firsts, it would likely be worth it. He's a really good 2 way player and big enough to play some PF minutes, although he wouldn't slot in as a great solution to start there.

A pure addition like that would be quite a bump for a team on the cusp.

In a couple of years, you'd probably have to rebalance the roster to get bigger, but so what?

It's the kind of all in move that needs to happen.

The Spurs declined a Celtics trade proposal for Jakob Poeltl before trading him to the Raptors, according to @BrianTRobb.

The offer:
🔺Payton Pritchard
🔺Danilo Gallinari
🔺Multiple future second-round picks

Raptors first round pick slightly more valuable. Unless you think Pritchard is going to become better than what he is now.

I’d take the first rounder

Will that package get Mo Bamba? Or would that be an overpay?

I don't think SAN cares a bit about Gallinari, Pritchard or Birch.  It was about the picks.  So unless SAN thought they could "flip" Pritchard for a pick, I don't think he had much value to them.

Anytime now Brad, don't be shy

Thank you Brad!

I will say, I love that Brad is willing to do what it takes to help the team, even with the minor moves. Ainge would typically not even do those even if it cost a 2nd round pick in the past which was annoying

Pritchard will go to an established team that needs a rotation guard who can score. He's of no real value to a team assembling assets unless they plan to move him as part of another deal. Something will emerge for him, though probably not today at this point.

Is Cam Johnson not a bad defensive player? Slow footed?

I am remembering him wrong.

Yes, you are remembering wrong. He's a 6'8" 3andD wing.

Cam Johnson and Mike Muscala would be a perfect trade deadline scenario for Boston.

So in summary, what is most important, is how the Celtics did relative to the immediate competition, Nets, PHI, and MIL.  The Nets blew themselves up so they no longer even matter.  PHI did a sideways trade, don't see how they are any better for it.  And MIL gave up some useful players and 5 seconds to get Crowder, who hasn't played all year.

The Celtics added what should be a useful but not highly impactful player.  I think Muscala will even play some in the playoffs.  Maybe 10 min of Theis level play.

We will have to wait and see how Crowder plays but for now, I feel we did better than MIL or PHI.  Now we have to make sure we "hold serve" with the buyouts.  I think both MIL and PHI are sitting at 14 roster players, just like us.
