With Jordan Clarkson turning down an extension with Utah, how bout this trade:

Celtics get Clarkson

Jazz gets Danilo Gallinari, Grant Williams & Payton Pritchard

He be great alongside Brown & Tatum to help with scoring & take aload off of them
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Is Clarkson better than just Gallo? I am not sure, but let's also give them 2 young players to boot.

I'm not sold on the deal, given that Clarkson is a ball hog. Also GWill fulfills a valuable defensive function as a small ball 5 in small lineups and is able to at least defend the likes of Giannis. If it was just Gallo for Clarkson I'd be more interested, but Utah probably wouldn't  :police:

Payton is a 3rd stringer for us, Celtics not resigning Grant on what he asking & Danilo is hurt plus around 35.

Backcourt of Smart, Clarkson, White & Brogdon would be nice
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I mean, he'd run into the same minutes crunch sharing a backcourt with Smart, White, Brogdon, and Jaylen that has Pritchard out of the rotation. Clarkson's a fine player and all, but combo guard minutes are at the bottom of Boston's need list and they'd be unlikely to bring him back over the summer.

Yeah, the last thing this team needs is another guard.

The guy on Utah I want is Vanderbilt.

so...exchange a PG that can shoot and hustles, our backup 'big' and a real offensive talent that may not be ready for the playoffs but would add real depth and quality to the bench next year

for

a ball-dominating chucker that is inconsistent and when he's having an off night is a real negative on the court?

not to mention thinning out our already thin front court for yet another guard.

How much would Clarkson be looking at though in order for the Celtics to resign him? Would it be far from what GWill would demand? He’s making around 12-13M now so I imagine he’d be looking for a significant raise, specially with how he’s playing now.

Celtics don't need another guard.  They could use a PF/C.  Staying on the subject of the Jazz, Olynyk would be a perfect fit for the Cs.  Give up Gallo, PP, Blake, and Jackson and do it tomorrow Brad.

Why would the Celtics not wanting to sign Grant to what he's wanting be a reason to trade him? Do you really think he's going to get an offer sheet so high that Brad won't match it?
Also, I don't know why anybody thinks Brad is going to trade Gallo before he returns.

I'd be on board with this one assuming no picks involved

With all due respect, this is a horrendous trade proposal.  That said, you’re going after the wrong Jazz player anyway.  If you want to target someone it’s KO.

KO or Vanderbilt would be the ones I would want from Utah
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Where is Clarkson going to play?  IF the C's take in a guard then one of Brogdon, White or Smart need to go.

The could use a PF/C.

I agree in regards to the proposed trade.  I see no need to bring in Clarkson.

As to Olynyk, I have not seen him play in Utah this season.  Would he give us more than Grant Williams or is he less than Grant Williams?  Not sure how we would be able to bring in his $12.8M contract unless you want to trade White.  Gallinari + Pritchard does not get you there.  I don't think Olynyk, even if we could get him, would actually help us.  He probably wouldn't even play in the playoffs short of injury or foul trouble.
