Idiotic, especially to the extreme he takes it. I'm fine with that kind of philosophy in small doses, but he literally lets 10-, 12-, 14-0 runs go unanswered at times. Just borderline dogmatic about it.
And right on cue, Donovan calls a good timeout sensing the impending run. He also made a great management decision to get Vuc and Derozan back in there earlier than their normal rotation, which stopped the earlier fourth quarter run. That's a seasoned coach deviating from a gameplan by responding to what's actually happening.
