Our Big 3 have 12 TOs. Unacceptable, as well as the putrid shot-chucking offense.

I just made a turnover post as well, I was going to lump Smart's in with the J's but, I can live with 3 from Smart, I think.

We can't live with double digit TO's from JT/JB literally every game.  In games when we aren't shooting lights out, that is a lot of potential points we are just giving away.
I know both have gotten better at finding the open man, JT maybe a bit more so that JB.  But both of them need to settle down and not just give away the ball.

Al was terrible tonight.

And coach just kept playing him... Real head scratcher...

Kept playing everybody ......... into the ground.

This team has been on a very compact schedule and even though they had two days rest, they spent them in a hotel, no doubt.
So, play more people, Joe, and CALL TIMEOUTS.

JT / JB gotta get control of the Turnovers.
literally every game they have almost 10 or more between those 2.

And every turnover was punished

The whole bench only had 1 TO.

I dunno what you tell JT/JB.  We need them to attack, but the bone-headedness just keeps showing up from both of them.
They are still young, they are still young, they are still young......my mantra.

Joe has to coach the full season, not just one game. Why Al played so many minutes...? I thought this was gone with Ime.

Especially when Al couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if he tried to drive a tractor into it tonight.

I think one benefit of the time outs that Mazzulla overlooks is the rest that our guys get, especially guys like Al. I know we needed him in there to guard Vucevic and Kornet was the only other option, but at least give the guy a few breaks with some time outs. You don't even need to tell the players anything in a huddle, just call the TO and tell them get some rest and some Gatorade.

Mazzula finishes the game with 4 timeouts intact. That is ridiculous.

And a challenge.

He might be overdoing the “let them play through it” a bit

The solution being the coaching staff - they have to tell them what is a bad habit and to stop playing dumb.
Brogdon almost looks out of place out there with how smart he plays and the way he stays within his limits.
Tatum and Brown and Smart, year after year, keep hitting their heads into a brick wall, committing turnovers and jacking threes.

high usage players always turn the ball over a lot.  Entering tonight, Tatum's TOV% was a very low 8.9% (the best in his career - average 10.2%).  Brown was at 13.4% which isn't great, but it isn't terrible either (as comparisons for their careers, Lebron is 13.2 and Steph is 13.8).  Westbrook is at 16.0 for his career.  That is an unacceptable level for basically anyone not named Magic Johnson (a gross 19.4% for his career), but Tatum being around 10% is uber elite (Jordan was at 9.3) and Brown in the 13% range is fairly typical of all star level players (I mean Bird was 12.7% for his career, Kobe was at 11.7%, Chris Paul is 13.4, Giannis is 13.7, Durant 12.5).   Obviously this game wasn't a good game in that department, but I'm not worried at all about Tatum or Brown taking care of the ball.  Smart has always been more careless (15.0% for his career), so there is some concern with him as he loses some athleticism that he may be more turnover prone, and when you are already fairly close to Westbrook in that department, that isn't good.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

lol its not the staff's fault. You can tell players all they want but if they make bad decisions or or use bad techniques its no use. They arent the ones playing on the court. These arent high school kids. The Celtics were rank 2 in turnovers prior to this game, you think we suddenly had an uptick in turnover this game because the coaches suddenly didnt preach this? ****.

Malcolm hit the nail on the head in his post game. Basically said they came out without the energy they needed to, Bulls were more desperate to win and played with urgency. Said they turned the ball over at inopportune moments when they were trying to build momentum. Says they are such a high caliber shooting team from beyond the arc but they need more balance and be able to play inside the arc and to maintain their defense when the shots aren't falling instead of just settling for 3s. Just didn't have that sense of urgency to win the game that Chicago did.

That's basically it in a nutshell. We can talk about xs and os but end of day they just didn't come out with urgency, and they turned the ball over when they were trying to come back.
