This is a game where you want Rafael Leao on the pitch to make runs in behind Morocco's defense. Only Joao Felix has looked threatening making runs in behind. He needs some help.

I like the manager playing Ruben Neves in midfield today instead of William Carvalho. Neves is a sensational long range passer. Perfect for picking out runners looking to get in behind a packed defense. Now they just need some more runners.

Well.  I guess I'll be pulling for Argentina now that every team from the Americas have been eliminated (as far as I can tell)

....I always cheer for a team from the Americas first!

I would sub both Ramos and Bruno Fernandes for Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafael Leao. They need that pace in behind. Then Portugal will have three guys making runs in behind or coming deep, dragging defenders out of position.

All too easy for Morocco right now.

Morocco could win this World Cup.

They are dang difficult to score against. Extremely well organized. Two skillful creative midfielders in Ziyech and Boufal. Dangerous in the counter attack. Strong on set pieces. Tough team to beat.

I wonder what odds you would have gotten on Morocco to the semis?

The only soccer-related thing about Morocco I knew prior to the World Cup was that the US smoked them 3-0 this summer.  This is an amazing run.

Tchouameni is awesome. I was delighted when Chelsea were linked with him but unfortunately they did not buy him and he went to Real Madrid a few months later for twice the price.

I wonder if Chelsea will go after Declan Rice instead in the summer. Man Utd got Casemiro so they are likely out of the race. Rice an ex-Chelsea youth player (age 7-14).

Harry Kane is special. Great spin away from the defender. Created something from very little. He does so much to help England. Enables so much of their attacking play with his link up game and playmaking from deep.

Strange how much criticism he gets in England. Too slow. Doesn't score as much as he used.

The guy is magic.
