Kornet is a convenient whipping boy, and he definitely sucks out there.  Brad should be criticized heavily.

But, when we give up 85 combined points to Mitchell and Lavert, we're going to lose.  Our perimeter defenders need to show something.

Our perimeter defense is terrible, they shot 47% from 3. Even worse it’s a trend

Kornet cannot play in the nba. He’s flat out terrible. Vonleah no better. One guy off the bench worth a darn.

Kornet +10 Smart -16...

Kornet legit stood there in OT and watched. Smart was awful also

Oh yeah, like when Kornet threw the ball away along with the game. I never understand why Smart is always defended on here even when he puts up a stinker like this...

I’m not defending smart. I think he should be coming off the bench. He’s been absolutely awful this season

Kornet isn't one of our perimeter defenders even though Smart is supposed to be one he stunk.

Echoing the disappointment. I realize TL is out, but our defense is just horrific on pretty much all fronts. We'll look good on offense for a while, but we no longer have our D to fall back on and we're seeing that we're just another team without that.

Cs are an on-year, off-year type of team. Last year was an on-year, which unfortunately may mean this one is an off.

The cs were garbage in the first half of last season

Yes and we were slitting wrists because the sky was falling in this time last year too … let us slit wrists, it feels cathartic

Did he watch or did the defense break down on the perimeter because no one could keep Mitchell and LaVert from going wherever they wanted?

It doesn't really work that way.

People are going after our 3 string center in his first real game out there from injury and giving Smart a free pass. Smart totally lost this game. So many missed shots and dumb plays. He couldn't stay in front of anyone.

No. But he didn’t play much defense and didn’t rebound.

Defense scheme is an issue

It's because our bigs are always in drop coverage this season, even Horford.  Vonleh, Griffin, and Kornet are all too immobile and find themselves in no man's land too often.  Even Horford has been caught there too.  It's not working, but you obviously can't feel confident with any of our bench bigs trying to switch on smaller players either.

I watched him closely most of the game.  When in there, he mostly just stood there, doing the occasional pirouette.

He's not an NBA-caliber player.

I watched the game. Smart was way worse than a -16. Just an eyesore...

Who is giving smart a pass? This entire thread has people pointing out how bad smart was.

My issue with Kornet is he doesn’t give you any offense, defense or rebounding.

And yes smart has stunk ALL season.

The defense is becoming atrocious. Maybe Udoka is the x-factor, with the game plan on defense etc. Need to improve in that department

The new scheme of this defense doesn’t make sense. They played without Rob last year and weren’t nearly this bad.

82 points to two dudes is putrid.
