I agree with that suggestion. Players are taking extended time off this time of the season as is. Just make it official and give everyone a break.

In fairness to the NBA, there’s already a short break for teams who aren’t in the play-in, and teams tend to get rest between games in the playoffs.

In fairness to the NBA, there’s already a short break for teams who aren’t in the play-in, and teams tend to get rest between games in the playoffs.

there's already a bye week with the all-star game 2/3 of the way through the season.  if they're worried about player burnout, they can go back to no play-in rounds so those teams play less or spread the games out a bit more.  less back to backs.  possibly put in 2-3 breaks per season of 3-4 games each.  give teams a chance to rest and heal a bit.

Was curious to see how Mikal Bridges would do as #1 option. Played 36 mins tonight and had 45pts, 8rebs. 5ast, 2blk, 2stl. Impressive.

Maybe ham should consider not having his two best players be the most injury prone “star” in the NBA and a 38 year old he can’t stop playing 37 minutes a game… it’s amazing the amount of whining from these players when it is compared to AC Green flying coach to every city, having a quarter the access to nutrition and physical therapy. Oh yeah and they are getting paid 30 times as much.

And he did it against the Heat as opposed to a bottom feeder.  Don't see him as a #1 option but he's a heck of a #2 option.  Not many players are more complete than Bridges.  Offense.  Defense.  Onball.  Offball.  He also has played every game in his first 5 seasons. 

The Sixers really screwed up trading him.  Embiid, Harden, Maxey and Bridges would be a heck of a core.

Embiid became the fastest Sixer to reach 10000 pts.  Doing so in 373 games which surpassed Iverson who did it in 378 games.  Overall Embiid is the 13 fastest NBA player to do so.  I suspect if it was judged by minutes played rather than games played Embiid would be even further up the list.

In his last 15 games, Mobley is averaging 19.1 points on .564/.238/.708 shooting splits with 9.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.6 blocks and 0.9 steals per game.

Terrible trade by the Sixers made even worse since he's a Philly kid who played at Villanova and really wanted to be a Sixer.

Changing the subject, the Lakers had pretty much their full team last night and won (against NOP without Zion).  They started Vanderbilt, Beasley, and D. Russell.  Beasley and Russell is an interesting back court.  In MIL in 2021-22, as a 2-man line up, they had a NetR of +4.5 when playing together with a large sample size (61 gms, 834 min).  I wonder how this will work out for LAL?  I was expecting the DefR to be poor but it really wasn't all that bad.

Terrible trade by the Sixers made even worse since he's a Philly kid who played at Villanova and really wanted to be a Sixer.

The other thing I find interesting about that pick is that the Celtics had Philly's pick (via the Lakers) that year, but only if it was #2 - #5.  Otherwise, we got the better of Philly's and Sacramento's pick the following season.

I can't fault Danny for betting against Sacramento, but if we'd just taken the Lakers pick we'd have had our choice between Bridges, SGA and Porter, Jr.

It is a bit like the Kobe and Shaq dynamic.  One ultracompetitive, the other kind of laid back.  Seems they should be able to work this out.  Winning will probably help.  This is all still just conjecture and probably exaggerated but also not surprising.
