Do the Nuggets have enough depth to win the title?

C: Nikola Jokic, Thomas Bryant


They traded away their best backup guard in Bones Hyland. Jeff Green has struggled all season as their only backup forward. They have only two reliable bench players in Bruce Brown (wing) and Thomas Bryant (C). And Bryant can't play defense. Ish Smith is their best backup PG and he is not a rotation caliber player.

Jamal Murray is their only legit ball-handler. Neither KCP, B.Brown, Porter Jr or A.Gordon are ball-handlers. Jokic is their next best creator off the bounce after J Murray.


I love their top 6 guys but the rest of their team does not look up to it.

I think that Reggie Jackson will sign there.

That would be a big help for them.

While there isn't that "alpha" like Durant/Irving, this Nets team might now be sneaky dangerous. A legit starting lineup, some real solid pieces off the bench (as well as guys like Cam Thomas who now have their opportunities). It wasn't working with Durant/Irving/Simmons anyways but now they have some real building blocks again and the vibes there also seem better (besides Simmons who I think the Nets wish they could also banish lol).

Nets still have some juice even after trading Durant and Irving if you ask me

It depends on what the picks are.  For instance, the offer could have been Memphis’s pick this year, the lesser of Memphis and Golden State next year, and lottery protected picks in 2025 and 2027.

Even if all of those first rounders were unprotected, I’m not sure that I would trade a productive two-way 26 year old on a good contract for the offer.

And the fact that Joe Tsai refused to deal Kyrie to the Lakers, got that little bit of Celtics-mindset in him  They're now more likeable post KD/Kyrie/Harden. As for Simmons...could care less. Was never one of the big honchos when they were around and still won't be. Sucks for Steve Nash, wonder how he would've done with the new faces of the Nets now that KD and Kyrie are gone.

The Nets will have to figure out how to do better on offense in the 4th quarter of close games. That's where they will miss Durant/Irving. I will say though, Ben Simmons definitely has the best job in the league. Just come off the bench, stand around, set screens or do dribble handoffs, and attempt OPEN layups/dunks all for 190M. Guy's living the dream. He's so terrified to even take any shots nowadays

I'd rather have the picks.  A #2 doesn't do any good if you don't have the #1.  Now they can't really tank since they don't control their own pick for awhile, which is also why I think they need more picks as that gives them more options, both in the draft or to trade.
