So we went from Michael, to Kobe, to Lebron, to…?

Not an LBJ fan, but have to say it’s going to be weird when he’s gone.

The next generation will be JT, Luka and Jokic imo

But who will be the face of the league?

My guess would be Giannis.   Then you’ll get someone who isn’t in the league yet.

Starting to think it won’t be one player. Maybe Tatum/Luka could share it like Magic/Bird did. Both are still young at 23 and 24. Would be a fun rivalry.
It’ll be Wemby

It's been Curry for almost a decade, and with the way players age right now, it could be Curry for almost another decade.

Doncic is probably next right now.

Giannis, Tatum, Wemby, are after them.

It’s not just about dominance and skill, but also charisma. Giannis has that same charisma and personality that Lebron and Curry have. Doncic is not charismatic at all, and I just can’t see it. I think you’ll also see that some in JT, as he’s pretty reserved.

Though I’d love for a rivalry to take over the next face of the league, but it’s probably in-conference rather than East vs West. I could see JT and Giannis being that pairing, as there’s already three playoff series’ worth of history there since 2018 and surely many more to come.

There's something to that for sure.  In general, fans and marketing are going to gravitate toward charismatic guys.  It's probably the main reason that Tim Duncan was never the face of his era, despite probably being the best player in the NBA for most of his career.  Shaq and Kobe were getting the hype, partially due to playing on the Lakers, and partially due to larger than life personalities.

The only way Luka becomes the NBA's face is if it's a Magic/Larry situation, I think.  If you see the Mavs develop a huge rivalry with the Bucks or Celtics, you could have a Luka vs. Giannis, Luka vs. Tatum situation.

EDIT:  Funny.  You edited your post to add an additional paragraph, and we're on the same page there, too.

The next face of the league is Giannis

The next three are probably Doncic, Jokic and Tatum

It will be really interesting to see how he does against NBA players. I think it’s going to take him time to get used to the speed and physicality of the league. I don’t expect him to come in and dominate right off the bat like Luka did.

In my little neck of the woods, I see people wearing a lot of Doncic jerseys and hear them talking a lot more about Doncic than anyone other than Curry. I know that's anecdotal, but that's what I'm seeing.

I’ve watched a lot of Mavs games and Luka is a very charismatic player. He is a showman and plays with a lot of emotion. Are you talking about off the court?

I was surprised by that comment.  Luka is full of fire and charisma.  Now maybe he turns people off, but he definitely has that Jordan air about him i.e. I know I am better than everyone else and I'm going to make sure they know it.

Gold - yeah, I’m primarily meaning off the court stuff. While on the court he meets all the criteria - skilled, dominant, flashy, passionate, etc. - off the court he seems very shy and reserved. I do think some of it is a language barrier, but even Giannis was able to lean into his language barrier and coming from another culture to make himself more personable and marketable.

For example, I watched Luka with the Dude Perfect crew the other day on one of their Overtime episodes, and he seemed uncomfortable and reserved through a lot of it. I think someone like Lebron, Giannis, etc. would’ve been much more comfortable and playful, making them come off as “more fun” and marketable.

What I appreciate about Doncic is that he plays PG, is very average from an athletic standpoint, has good, but not great size at 6’7” and you just can’t stop him. Luka’s level of skill and BBIQ is off the charts. Only knock on him is his defense.

Gotcha. I can see that to some extent as English is not his first language. Feel like it took Giannis some time to get comfortable as well, so maybe that will happen down the road for Luka.

Easy for me. If it gets in the Celtics' way, then that team needs to lose. So, go Bucks losing!!

Besides, we swept the Lakers already so I'm happy ;D
