Is Marcus Jones OK? Saw him down bad late in the 4th. Was watching CAR/TB and NE/MIA game simultaneously

Marcus Jones didn’t play today.  May be back next week -  concussion.
The guy down was Jonathan Jones.

Hard to keep up with the Jones’s

MY HEART. BUT LFG!!!!!  ;D

Now rooting for the Seahawks.

If SEA beats NYJ today, then the Pats can still make the playoffs if the Jets beat the Dolphins next week who could be without Tua AND Bridgewater maybe.

If the Jets win today though, the Pats can only make it if they beat BUF next week. And spoiler alert… I really don’t see NE winning next week lol.

Seahawks beat the Jets! Niners beat the Raiders!

If the Steelers lose tonight, then everything will have gone the Pats way today  ;D

Honestly the patriots should already be in. It was pretty poor luck to lose to the raiders on a poorly called touchdown (raiders receiver was clearly out) and fumble at the 5 against the bengals with a minute left. It’s a long way from the lunatics saying they would win 6 games max.

The excitement of watching all these in-the-hunt AFC teams getting eliminated, and watching the Pats sneak in only to get eviscerated in the Wild Card. It's so exciting!!!  ;D

I’d rather they make the playoffs than not. Not a big tanker for draft position. This team has been frustrating to watch this year but they are not that far off from being a good team. The defense is pretty good and has a solid foundation. The offense needs an OC and offensive line help. A good WR would also help. But I don’t think fixing those in the offseason is that far out of the question. It’s doable.

They have zero expectations right now from most people. Maybe they’ll surprise us and build something positive for next year.

At this point they can’t get a great draft spot, so they may as well make the playoffs, if for no other reason than a psychological boost, but they’re gonna get shellacked in the first round.

Too bad the Ravens suck.

Lol true, but tbh I still think there’s value in making the playoffs, especially for Mac and the younger guys on our team to get that experience and atmosphere.

Also let’s be real. Whether it’s pick #11 or #17 with Belichick does it really matter? He’d probably trade down or reach for someone unexpected anyways  :P

Welp.

So for the Patriots to clinch a playoff spot, they need either:

- WIN against Buffalo

OR…

Steelers, Titans AND Dolphins LOSE

They might have to hope for the latter lol. I’m a pretty optimistic guy but even I’ll admit there’s probably a really good chance we get crushed next week on the road to Buffalo

Think we might have a better shot at the latter than the former. Jaguars do have something to play for and it's to make the playoffs against the Titans. Dolphins will be without Tua and most likely without Bridgewater, so the Jets may pose a stronger threat. The Browns got that little rivalry with the Steelers, so they'll make things tough for them.

I hope they make the playoffs.  Odds are against it right now.  You think back on the few games that the Patriots could have won or should have won and they would already be in.  But they found ways to lose those games.

In spite of all that was bad this season, I am going to go out on a limb and say that I think they are a couple of good offensive lineman away from being a solid playoff team next season.  They are still going to be second tier, not quite Bills or Chiefs, but I think they could easily be right there.  To me, it all starts with the O-Line.  That is the biggest issue with the passing game.

I predict they will use a couple of high picks on OL and also maybe a FA.  Shoring up the OL will make the QB and the receivers look a whole lot better.  It also may allow for more aggressive play-calling.  I am not sure if they need a new offensive coordinator or not.  It probably wouldn't hurt.  But if they don't fix the OL, it won't matter.

For now though, they just need to play with a nothing to lose attitude and see what happens vs. Bills.  Hope for a couple of turnovers by them.  Running QBs tend to kill us, and this game will probably not be any different but we just need to keep that any given Sunday attitude.

Go Jets! Go Jags! Go Browns!

Skylar Thompson is very likely starting this week against the Jets. I feel really good about the Jets and Jags winning this weekend, but my main worry is the Browns-Steelers game. Need the Browns to beat the Steelers on the road.

And yes as you can probably tell, I give the Pats pretty much no shot of beating Buffalo this Sunday lol. So we need the help and I'll be scoreboard watching a ton
