I hope they make the playoffs. Odds are against it right now. You think back on the few games that the Patriots could have won or should have won and they would already be in. But they found ways to lose those games.
In spite of all that was bad this season, I am going to go out on a limb and say that I think they are a couple of good offensive lineman away from being a solid playoff team next season. They are still going to be second tier, not quite Bills or Chiefs, but I think they could easily be right there. To me, it all starts with the O-Line. That is the biggest issue with the passing game.
I predict they will use a couple of high picks on OL and also maybe a FA. Shoring up the OL will make the QB and the receivers look a whole lot better. It also may allow for more aggressive play-calling. I am not sure if they need a new offensive coordinator or not. It probably wouldn't hurt. But if they don't fix the OL, it won't matter.
For now though, they just need to play with a nothing to lose attitude and see what happens vs. Bills. Hope for a couple of turnovers by them. Running QBs tend to kill us, and this game will probably not be any different but we just need to keep that any given Sunday attitude.
