Bottom line for me: I wouldn't trade KD for Jaylen Brown, straight up. I believe reports that Jaylen is very happy in Boston. I believe as constructed, with the Brogdon and Gallo moves, we are in a very good position to go to finals again and win it all this time. I like sticking with home grown talent, and maintaining a strong nucleus that is young, with the prospect of competing for many years to come.
Let me ask you this. Would you do Both Williams, Smart, and Pritchard, plus firsts for Durant?
Maybe, but it would crush me to trade Rob. Grant, Smart and Pritchard are more easily replaceable. I would get fired if I was a GM and did not pull the trigger on that trade, right?
I wouldn't. During the finals, I can't remember the exact number something like +30 when he was on the floor with one leg.
Then you give up Smart, while can drive you nuts, can and often has made plays on the D that wins games, made that headsy pass in game one of the first round.
Grant has gotten better every year, he played as well as you can against Giannis, and you need as many bodies possible for him. Unless he wants a dumb contract and wont resign, he's really good off the bench, just needs to be consistent.
I like Pritchard, Eddie house type with some decent D. I'd trade him straight up for Durant though. lol
I don't think Durant makes up for offense that we'd lose on D. He's still good on team D, but has slipped, and really slipped on man to man, and Giannis would eat him up. Plus I can't get with him being 37 and paying him 53 mil that final year. MAYBE he becomes Iron man his last 4 seasons and plays 70ish games, but I wouldn't bet on it. And you'd need him to do that cause you wouldn't be able to afford a bench, especially after Browns new contract.
