Per Weiss of The Athletic last night:
"For all the hiccups in Brown’s relationship with the fanbase, he’s still committed to Boston. When WEEI’s Jermaine Wiggins claimed that Brown told him he wouldn’t re-sign in Boston when his contract expires in 2024, Brown was perplexed and denied the report behind closed doors, sources familiar with Brown’s thinking told The Athletic. In spite of the trade talks, Brown wants to be in Boston."

Look if Brown wants to stay long term, you definitely roll forward with a locked in Brown and Tatum + great team around them.

Can we trade Wiggins and 2023 and 2024 second round picks to the Nets for a future second round pick?

You can't trust the media these days. So easy to make things up. They compete with each other for attention.

At NYC Point God premier in Manhattan, Celtics star Jayson Tatum was asked about reports of BOS talking to BKN about a trade for Kevin Durant. Tatum says that he loves the current Celts team.

I hope this is all smoke and mirrors with no legitimately.  I love this team as well and feel they have more then enough to beat anyone.  I want Brown extended not traded.  I am not a KD fan and all of the ball movement and fun basketball will be gone with us watching KD and JT take turns going 1 on 5.  I think the cs can win it all next year and still have assets to make a deal.  I really hope nothing is done and we get to see this team take shape.  The crazy part is we will see further developments for Brown Tatum Timelord.  White should provide improved shooting.  Grant knows his role and will be better focusing on his ball handling and post game.  This team will not be better with Durant and no smart or JB

This is a weird take. KD can play in any offense. Just because the Nets iso’d all the time because that was the only play Nash knew doesn’t take away KD’s time in GSW
A Golden State offense that Durant later criticized for not giving him enough isos.

Bottom line for me:  I wouldn't trade KD for Jaylen Brown, straight up.  I believe reports that Jaylen is very happy in Boston. I believe as constructed, with the Brogdon and Gallo moves, we are in a very good position to go to finals again and win it all this time.  I like sticking with home grown talent, and maintaining a strong nucleus that is young, with the prospect of competing for many years to come.

Let me ask you this. Would you do Both Williams, Smart, and Pritchard, plus firsts for Durant?

Maybe, but it would crush me to trade Rob. Grant, Smart and Pritchard are more easily replaceable.  I would get fired if I was a GM and did not pull the trigger on that trade, right?

I wouldn't. During the finals, I can't remember the exact number something like +30 when he was on the floor with one leg.

Then you give up Smart, while can drive you nuts, can and often has made plays on the D that wins games, made that headsy pass in game one of the first round.

Grant has gotten better every year, he played as well as you can against Giannis, and you need as many bodies possible for him. Unless he wants a dumb contract and wont resign, he's really good off the bench, just needs to be consistent.

I like Pritchard, Eddie house type with some decent D. I'd trade him straight up for Durant though. lol

I don't think Durant makes up for offense that we'd lose on D. He's still good on team D, but has slipped, and really slipped on man to man, and Giannis would eat him up. Plus I can't get with him being 37 and paying him 53 mil that final year. MAYBE he becomes Iron man his last 4 seasons and plays 70ish games, but I wouldn't bet on it. And you'd need him to do that cause you wouldn't be able to afford a bench, especially after Browns new contract.

I’m curious, which is the better duo:

Brown + White

Siakim + Anunoby

In a vacuum the second one?

And then if Brooklyn were faced with those as their choices, then the first one because Brown has more upside?

The latter. Siakam is the equal of Brown IMO (worse scorer and shooter, better rebounder and passer, similar defensively), and Anunoby is superior to White.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Jayson Tatum to reporters at Point Gods movie premiere when asked about Kevin Durant trade rumors: "I’ve played with him during the Olympics. He’s a great player. That’s not my decision. I love our team. I love the guys that we got. I don’t know if that report is true or not."

I gotta say it again, I'm sure it's been mentioned... but [dang] of course, they took that beast of a team last year and added Brogdon and Gallo to it.

As currently constructed, I think Brad has built a well rounded team. If he were to make an offer at this point, I think it should be something like Smart, Horford, Hauser, 3 firsts and 2 pick swaps. If Brooklyn doesn't like the offer, they could go somewhere else, because Brad already improved a team that went to the Finals.

I wouldn't trade Brown&White (Cool name paring...) for Siakum&Anunoby even if picks were involved coming our way.

The Celtics have pretty good chemistry right now. Chemistry is hard to get.
I wouldn't go into that core in a trade unless I was sure I was improving the team.
The only piece missing right now a solid defensive backup for Horford/Williams.

Crazy talk! A team of the following is insane.

Smart / Pritchard
Anunoby / Brogdon
Tatum / Gallo
Siakam / Grant
Horford / Timelord

That’s a worse starting 5 than the C’s have now.
