17 years old.  He'll learn from that.

But also a Duke loss is always something to celebrate.

Duke looks like they have something with Khaman Maluach

Kon Knueppel looks solid as well. 6?7? Freshmen wing. He?s averaging 17pts, 4rebs, 2ast. 36% from 3pt. Decent handle, can get to the rim.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Flagg led Duke past #17 Arizona last night 69-55. Cooper finished with 24pts, 6rebs, 3ast, 2blks, 1stl. It?s crazy that he?s only 17. Legit 6?9? right now and could grow an inch or two.

So he gets drafted at 18 years old, goes to Utah or Washington for 4 years on his rookie contract and then joins the Celtics as a FA at 22/23 years old. I could live with that.  :)

Utah gets him and Danny trades him to us in a few years for an aging Porzingis and four #1s.

A lengthy, but enjoyable ESPN article.  Some good 80's Celtics influence and Scal bits.  Also love that his mom retired undefeated against him.

Hey, it could happen. Players ask for trades all the time and most of them end up getting moved. Hopefully Cooper wants to come home to New England at some point and play for the team he grew up rooting for. That would be a great story.

Excellent read. TP for sharing. It still boggles my mind that someone that good comes from Maine.

It is a pipe dream.  Restricted free agents have little leverage.  I can't remember any of them forcing a team to trade them.  If a #1 pick were to get traded that soon, it would be because he is a bust or near bust.

The praise for a prospect who impressed while competing against a U.S. men's basketball team boasting stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum this summer includes a recent assessment from Garnett on his podcast, KG Certified, which also comes with the warning that it contains the use of profanity.

"He's got superstar around him. I can see kids wanting to be like that and play like that," said Garnett. "We haven't had a bad [expletive], cold [expletive] white boy like this in a long time."

In an interview with ESPN's Jonathan Givony, Flagg told him that hearing those comments from a Basketball Hall of Famer he grew up watching as a Celtics fan was a "surreal feeling."
"For sure," said Flagg when asked if there's a comp to make between the two. "Defensive versatility, competitiveness, those are all things, that attitude, they're something that you can't really teach, something that you have to have."

That blend of skills and intangibles, including a fiery competitive nature, will be on display in Durham this season and could soon make him a franchise player.

This is definitely the year to watch some college basketball.  Besides Flagg, there are supposed to be several other elite freshman.

Whether they are a RFA or not is irrelevant. Star players under contract ask to be moved and get traded all the time. Kawhi, Harden(Several times), Durant(several times), Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, etc. The players run the league.
