What a choke job  :P

If you think Flagg didn?t play well, you must not have watched the game.  ???

Just a reminder that no matter how good Coop is, it's a team, and Duke choked big time.

Duke lost, but Cooper still balled out. 27pts, 7rebs, 4ast, 3blks, 2stls. He was 8-19 from the field, 3-4 from 3pt and 8-8 from the line. The #1 pick in the 2025 draft and rightfully so. He?s a beast.

The best timeline.

Larry Bird lost his college championship bid .  It seems Cooper will really shine in the NBA

He will celebrate ? FLAGG DAY?. ??many times in the future .

Oh, I agree. But this is the Cooper Flagg thread so it seemed like the comment was directed at him. Kon played reasonably well, but that?s pretty much it. Also, how did the Duke 7?2 center have ZERO rebounds!? #14 was really bad too. Ton of mistakes.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Guys not named Flagg or Kneuppel:  8-for-25 (32.0%); 1-for-8 3PT (12.5%)

That plus one horrendous phantom foul, and the dream season is over.

Yikes. Also, what is up with Maluach? I watched every game Duke played in the tournament and don?t really understand the hype about him. The things people claim he does well, he doesn?t even do particularly well. He was late on most of his contests and was constantly fumbling the ball when passed or lobbed to him - as well as getting pushed around by much smaller players all the time. I get that hes young and considered a project, but I just think whoever takes a chance on him in the lottery is going to end up being very disappointed.

What are the chances that he actually stays in school in order to lead Duke to another shot at the national title? Whatever the odds are, i think there?s a bigger chance now that he stays as compared to if they won the title?

Edit:

He basically just said that he?ll join the draft.

I can?t stand the way it?s reffed in college. All the handsy d allowed a much less talented team to level the playing field. I?m not saying Duke didn't cough it up but it?s not for me.
The refs let everything go and it makes for an extra ugly game . All the fouling all game not called and then things like Sharpe?s drive with the late call by the ref waiting to see if the ball went in first and the over the back on Flagg when that stuff happened all game and was let go. It?s not consistent . It?s good theatre for sure but I hate seeing it.
I think if you ref it like the nba you?d have the best product because the lack of shooting and ability from so many guys to break a guy off the dribble would still allow for a great defensive game. I think most people may enjoy the handcheck though.

I mean, didn?t he reclassify so he could get to the league faster? His rookie deal is going to be $60M+. Not sure why there is a narrative that he was considering staying in college, but it never made much sense to me.

Flagg's reclassification, which had been expected for several months, puts him in position to potentially be selected No. 1 overall in the 2025 draft. He will turn 18 in late December of his freshman year of college, putting him just inside the cutoff date to declare for the draft.

In the least surprising news of the day, Cooper Flagg is going pro.

Duke star freshman Cooper Flagg, the Wooden Award winner and projected No. 1 pick, is officially entering the NBA draft, he announced Monday.

Flagg released a video on social media.

"Duke fans, my teammates, the brotherhood, everybody that was along for the journey. It was an incredible year, probably the best year of my life and I have so much gratitude and I feel so blessed for all the opportunities that I was given. Duke has always been a dream for me, but I'm excited to announce that I'll be entering my name into the 2025 NBA draft," he said.
