Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...

When on the 18th does the TPE expire?

Keith Smith suggested the deadline is midnight of the 19th.
hmmmm... a seemingly ongoing ambiguity in English. by "midnight of the 19th" do you mean that at 11:59 pm on july 19th the TPE is still valid? or 11:59 pm on the 18th?

11:59pm on the 18th.  At the stroke of midnight it disappears.
What time zone? 😂

So we should know in fewer than 30 hours what’s happening. It looks like it will expire, which we can all live with given the additions of Brogdon/Gallo without giving up anything other than Theis, Nesmith, and, speaking of the number 30, the 30th overall pick in 2023 😉

They might use some of it. Still need a wing and a big, I don't think we get both on cheap FA contracts. I could see us getting either Ross or Rudy Gay.

If they’re willing to spend for Ross then I think they’d spend for Josh Richardson, a better player.

I like Gay, but I don’t think he can play wing anymore.

I forgot that Richardson would be available. Yeah he'd be much better and would already be ahead of the curve knowing the system.

Orlando needs to get rid of a player apparently. Issac is just out of range. I don't think Carter is available, but love to get him, great Horford replacement. Bring Mo back, get lucky and throw some firsts at Orlando for his brother too. lol

I was on the Jazz sbnation blog the other day and the Jazz fans HATE Rudy Gay. They said he's a selfish malcontent and they want him gone asap.

I hope the Celts do pay the severe tax and grab the best player available even if it’s unlikely he stays part of the team . I’m all about acquiring assets to build a future trade to get another rotation lock type player. It’s not my money and it CAN be the difference between winning a tithe or not. We may never know but again it ain’t my money.

That's not until these evening at the stroke of midnight, but I'm sure your same quote will do.

I had some comments dannyboy35:

I hope the Celts do pay the severe tax and grab the best player available even if it’s unlikely he stays part of the team. That makes no sense at all. I’m all about acquiring assets to build a future trade to get another rotation lock type player. Does the team need one? I think insurance policies are the main focus now. It’s not my money true. and it CAN be the difference between winning a tithe or not. Not likely. We may never know but again it ain’t my money.

I think the luxury tax is scaring Wyc. I don't see anything happening. I think Brad will "try" but nothing will come of it.

Hope I am wrong, but I really think we would hear at least some chatter of a potential name if something was getting done today. Seems all these moves have been announced at least a few days ahead of when they actually became official (murray trade, tucker signing, brogdon signing, gobert potentially being traded, Noel and Burks being available, brunson to ny etc).
