Free agent G TJ Warren has agreed to a one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, sources tell ESPN.

Well, at least now we can stop talking about him.

Has BRK used its MLE yet?

I saw this reported:

The Nets have reached a free agent agreement with forward T.J. Warren and will sign him to a one-year contract, sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN (Twitter link).

The terms of the deal aren’t yet known. Brooklyn hasn’t used its taxpayer mid-level exception yet and could offer Warren any amount between his minimum ($2.6MM) and the full taxpayer MLE ($6.5MM).

My guess is he got the $6.5M.  We used ours on Gallinari.  I guess we can start the debate on who got the better value for their MLE.

If TJ is able to play, it’s not much of a debate. He’s a better player and at 28 years old, still in his prime. That’s a huge pickup for Brooklyn.

Isn't that the big IF though?  How likely is it that he will return to full form?  It is not a given he will be better than Gallinari next season.  It could go either way.  I agree it is a good pick up.  A good chance to take.

Considering he’s 28 and it was a stress fracture in his foot vs a tear of an Achilles or MCL/ACL, I’d think the chances are pretty good.

Pacers' T.J. Warren will not play this season, despite being 'a full participant in on-court activity'
By James Herbert
Mar 17, 2022

With 12 games left on the schedule, the Indiana Pacers have announced that T.J. Warren will miss the entire 2021-22 regular season. The forward last played on Dec. 29, 2020, and has since been sidelined after having surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot.

"T.J. Warren has worked incredibly hard over the past 14 months to get to this point -- a full participant in on-court activity with his teammates -- all while navigating the many challenges that accompany this type of injury," Pacers president Kevin Pritchard said in the team's official statement. "However, after thoughtful conversation with T.J. and his representatives, it has been determined that the most beneficial course of action at this point is to allow him to focus on the 2022-23 season.

If he hadn't had a string of foot injuries (on both feet) I might agree with you, that August-December period of 2020 saw him have 5 separate recorded foot injuries.

[dang] it! He would have been a solid backup C. Hoping for Aldridge now.

There was no way they were going to let Biyombo get away for the minimum.

I have loved Bismack ever since his draft year. A guy who is 6'8" with a 7'7" wingspan is just comical. He's never really developed much (beyond becoming more efficient), but I love him as a backup big. Rebounds well, protects the rim, sets meaty screens and is a lob threat.

I know that the chances we use our TPE are very, very slim, but man I would love to try and nab Mason Plumlee with it. I won't give up on my Plumlee dream

Goll-y! Good for him - he's a solid, well-rounded prospect to boot.

The Portland Trail Blazers plan to waive guard Eric Bledsoe ahead of his guarantee date approaching, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Entering his 13th NBA season, several teams are expected to pursue Bledsoe as a free agent.

This isn’t surprising.  Not a good fit here, but he’ll catch on somewhere.

Binky of mine.  Kid can play.  I was surprised he was still on the board that late.

I'd take Bledsoe as the 13th guy on a vet minimum.

I don't think there's any chance of that happening. He has too much left in the tank to come be our 4th string guard.

The John Wall signing probably rules out a Clippers return, but there are plenty of teams that would give him a bigger role (and better chance to earn a bigger contract next year) than we could
I'm bitter.

If he wants a ring he should sign up!

He’s actually ineligible to return to the Clippers because not enough time has passed since he was traded, and Portland released him from the contract he had with LA.

But there are probably 20 or so teams that are a better fit for Bledsoe than the Celtics are.  He could even resign in Portland for less if they’re interested themselves, as long as they didn’t stretch his contract.  They even have Bird rights.

I'm going to predict the Lakers, assuming they pass on Schroder.

Caleb Martin has agreed to a three-year deal worth about $20.5 million deal to return to the Heat, per source. Heat using the full $6.5 million taxpayer midlevel exception on Martin.
