Wouldn't be against swapping White for Bogdanovic + pick(s). Obviously, the Jazz have no incentive to send us pick(s). It would have to be a 3-way.

I don't think we need all 4 of Smart, Brodgon, White, Pritchard. I'd love us to trade one of them for a starting-caliber swing. Preferably a 2-way player, but 2-way swings don't grow on trees. Bogdanovic is a lethal shooter.

PG: Smart - Brogdon - Pritchard
SG: Brown - Brogdon
SF: Bogdanovic - Tatum
PF: Tatum - Grant - Gallo
C: Timelord - Horford

Bogdanovic would be a good fit as a wing but I would never start him.  He would come off the bench.  Can't see why Utah would trade an expiring for 3 years of White.  Not sure if we end up better or not (and no way that Utah includes a pick).  That type of wing does balance out our roster some.

I'd start him in order to rest both Timelord and Horford. The former is injury prone, the latter is 36 years old. Giving each one of them ~24 minutes should keep them fresh for the post season. I also believe Horford is at his best when playing at the 5.

Can't see why the Jazz would trade with us either. That's why I said it would probably have to be a 3-way.

Actually, even if Utah isn't interested in White long term (or even short term) they can always trade him later and probably get more than they could get for Bogdanovic.  This could be a small incremental win for Utah.  Not sure it is a win for Boston but Bogdanovic does add something we need.

And I would use Gallinari and Grant (and the additional big we are going to sign) to rest Horford and RWill.  You are not alone in wanting to see a 1 big line up, but I like the starting 5 from last season that was the best in the league and made it to the finals.

Highly doubt the Jazz would send us a pick though cause they are in rebuild mode. Wouldn't do it straight up. White is 5 years younger and is under team control for 2 extra seasons (although he's probably overpaid). Here's what I have in mind.

Celtics in: Bogdanovic + pick(s) from 3rd team
Jazz in: salary filler + minor asset(s)* from 3rd team
3rd team in: White

*don't think 33-year-old Bogdanovic hitting free agency next summer is worth a first

I'm not a big Turner fan. At the money he makes, I'd rather have Kabengele on a min.

Interesting.  If he has actually signed the offer sheet, I believe that the Suns and Pacers can no longer work out a sign and trade.

Ayton wanted a max rookie extension from PHO (5 year / $177M).  Ayton now has an offer of 4 years / $133M.  I am guessing PHO does not match?  Tries to work out a sign and trade?  Turner may end up in PHO but I am sure people will come up with plenty of 3 way trades to get the Celtics involved in this somehow.

This probably means the Suns are ruled out of the Durant sweepstakes. Since Ayton signed an offer sheet, he cannot be traded till December 15.

As others have said, it's not my money.  I'd take Turner.  But, it's all academic, as he can't fit within our TPE.

Take your pick.  But you know that Danny is not going to give away any of these players.  He is going to work to win every trade.

Donovan Mitchell
Mike Conley
Bojan Bogdanovic
Malik Beasley
Jordan Clarkson
Patrick Beverley
Rudy Gay
Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Jarred Vanderbilt
Walker Kessler
Leandro Bolmaro
Udoka Azubuike
Jared Butler

Setting Mitchell aside as I just don't see him coming to Boston, Rudy Gay is a possibility I guess.  Fits the need of that insurance wing.  Cost is not excessive at $6.2M (plus tax of course), with a player option season after (ouch).  I don't recall if I saw him plays last season but I assume he is still a useful player?  That second season may be the poison pill.

No interest in Bogdanovic or Clarkson after acquiring Brogdon. Too expensive. Not worth the price.

I liked the idea of Rudy Gay as a 3rd stringer until I saw how much money he was earning. I am shocked. I thought he was a minimum wage guy. Anyway, no thanks to Rudy Gay. Too pricey for a 3rd stringer.

Beverley will make a fine player for some contender but we already have Smart & D White so we don't need Beverley.

Not that impressed by Beasley. Limited player. Fine end of bench guy and if he was available cheap, I'd be on board ... but ... I'm not paying much for him. A pair of 2nd rounders seems sufficient.

I saw in another thread a D White for Beasley & Vanderbilt = no way am I paying that much. D White is far and away the best player of the 3 of them.

If it's true, sounds like the Suns are either planning on matching or they totally blew it. Being able to take back Turner in an Ayton deal would have been a big win for them. Not that Turner is amazing, but he'd be a nice anchor for that Suns team he is only signed through this year for a reasonable amount. Perhaps Indy wasn't even offering that since they actually have the cap space to sign Ayton.

Maybe Phoenix has an inside track on Whiteside.  He would be a decent replacement for Ayton at a whole lot less money.  They are about $14M under the tax hard cap and have the non-taxpayer MLE ($10.5M) and the bi-annual whatever ($4.1M).  They can use nearly all of both of these and still be under the tax.  If they decide they want Whiteside, we have no way to match their offer.

They don't have any TPEs though so they have a lot less flexibility with trades.
