If anyone knows Jaylen and how he feels about being in Boston, it's Brad Stevens, and I'm confident Brad will make the right move regarding Jaylen. If he thinks Jaylen plans to test free agency and may want to go elsewhere, he will move him, and we won't hear about it until it's done. If he's confident Jaylen wants to stay here he will lock him up long term.

I dunno if I've said this before but it honestly blows my mind that Greenly would want to trade Jaylen for KD or Kawhii, when KD literally has a horrible track record of quitting, and Kawhii not much better. I guess I get that talent beats out everything else, and some people would absolutely let KD/Harden/AD/Kawhii's of the world dictate their fate (and I guess there's an argument to be made that it's kind of inevitable, given the players are basically the most important thing to the NBA).

I have no idea what happened in the locker room when Irving was here, but he and Brown always seemed close and I don't think a player is going to hold it against another player if they want to switch teams at the end of the contract.  Irving finished out his contract and left in free agency.  To my knowledge, Irving has never insulted Brown or even disparaged him in any way.  Why would Brown hold Irving leaving the C's against Irving such that it would ruin whatever their relationship was?  That is the point of free agency i.e. to allow the players the freedom to leave.

I guess I get that talent beats out everything else, and some people would absolutely let KD/Harden/AD/Kawhii's of the world dictate their fate (and I guess there's an argument to be made that it's kind of inevitable, given the players are basically the most important thing to the NBA).

But yea you pared it out well Vermont --- it's just a bit mind boggling to me for Greenly to on the one hand read so much into the say 5% chance Jaylen's leaving from these Tweets and whatnot, and on the other to welcome some of these people (including KD who I feel is just ridiculous asking to leave with 4 years left on his contract) with open arms.
