Plenty of gms were fine with staying where they were. C's got a boom or bust player gamble that will be okay on a two way. Moving up forces a guy onto the roster who may not play  I won't over judge BS on this. Not everyone deals to go up or throw $2 million to move up.

If we could have moved the Davison pick and two of our picks next year for 37, maybe you do that deal. But we’re low on 2nds and maybe Davison was the target all along. It’s a complete crapshoot outside the lottery and while picks in the 30s have slightly better odds than those in the 50s, it’s not that much of a difference. (2) or (3) 2nd round shots is probably better than (1) 2nd round shot even if it was 37.

Brad specifically stated that the reason he didn't trade up is because the cost was too much, and he wanted to use the picks that it would have cost with the TPE to get other players.

I'm guessing we will get a much better player with the TPE and a draft pick than anyone in the second round ...

Brad had a good draft night with nothing to work with. We aren't even looking for prospects now we are trying to trade for NBA vets to support our young stars. Getting any kind of a prospect at 53 is a success.
