This team for 3 straight games did nothing but play sloppy ball and choke when things got tough.
In fact, this team played the opposite way they were taught to play offense since they first picked up a basketball.

If they were the better team, they would've fixed that issue and won the series. Instead, they didn't. This isn't a problem of skill, it's a lack of intelligence. IDK how you fix that.

Ime should've sat guys after careless TO's. He should've sent a message that if you're going to kill our momentum, then your playing time also gets killed. I do like Ime, he's a good coach, but he let these guys play undisciplined ball with no penalty. They reminded me a lot of how they played under Brad.

This offense has been bipolar for 5 years now. Something has to change. They cannot win a title if they don't change the mindset they have.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I think this is a bit of a cope. It's impossible to separate us from the turnover problem.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

One of the most frustrating part of all of this. This great Golden State team had a few down years, just enough time for the Lakers to steal a title, meanwhile we get them back full strength.

Ime said something in his post game that was pretty much on the mark.

They need more seasoning.

Truthfully, the only though that disturbs my sleep is that the Cs were 2 wins from pulling ahead of the Lakers again. I knew if they did we’d have pulled one from nowhere (won before really ready), but it would have been great.  Now it’s back to the beginning again — a talented team that needs to get over the hump to become a championship team. Hope Brad can bolster the rotation this off-season. I imagine he’s pretty excited to get started.

Maybe the more talented team lost but that's because they didn't actually play like a better team.

If you're going to turn the ball over 16+ times a game consistently against another elite opponent then you're asking to lose.

Agree, and the frustrating thing is that they are intelligent enough but seemed unwilling to get out of comfort zone.  I can't remember seeing so many repeated mistakes from a team that I love and follow.

I do think Ime should have sat guys down more times, even if short stints...but hard to to do against top competition with a so so bench.  But I definitely thought guys did things that called for brief benchings.

After the finals my first thought was: well, if the guys refuse to change at all, is management prepared to do the changing for them?  I mean, I'm back to wondering if we can have to turnover machines on the same team...as great as it is at times can a team like that survive rough finals level defense?

Warriors was better team..we had no bench
Yeah, lets not overlook the Warriors will be big favorites to repeat, especially with Wiseman coming back AND Kuminga is going to be star, though he's still only 19. Moody also shows good promise as a shooter off the bench. This is a very deep and talented team.

Wiseman, Kuminga, Wiggins, Poole, Payton II the next future. They remind me of the Spurs when their Big 3 and Kawhi were still on the team together.

The "better team" reverted back to November/December Celtics were losing multiple games in a row was a common theme.

It came full circle this series. 3 losses in a row in the playoffs including two at home...unacceptable.

And is that so bad? I don't think so. Don't think you do either Oz.

The Isiah Thomas Pistons, the Michael Jordan Bulls, the Kobe/Pau Lakers and the Lebron Heat all needed some seasoning and growing of their teams in Finals losses before bouncing back for multiple titles. No reason to think this version of the Celtics can't do the same.

I disagree that the better team lost. If you were actually better then we should have won. Now I can't complain about how far they made it but it was right there for the taking and we wilted. Not sure if it's because of the Kerr adjustments that we couldn't adjust to or if we played scared. I do think that Milwaukee would have beaten GSW but definitely NOT Miami. We need a Jimmy Butler type to keep things in order. I wouldn't mind seeing them go after Bobby Portis if available.

Don't agree with the better team lost. The smarter, more experienced team won.

I think that's it.

The Celtics were the more talented team but you have to actually go out and play the games. The Warriors played better than the Celtics. You know what you call the team that plays better? The better team.
