Warriors (1-2) at Celtics (2-1) Finals Game #4 6/10/22

We have to give the Dubs some credit too. It's easy to focus on our own team's failings but there's 2 teams playing for this championship and this was a must-win for GS. They knew they couldn't go back to SF with a 3-1 deficit and they delivered. Now it's our turn to respond. Part of the experience of following a team is seeing if they are capable of doing that. I'm excited to see if this team is ready to take that next step. Will they be the 1985 Celtics? Or the 1986 version? We'll find out.

They came out like a former NBA championship team should. Curry was fantastic, and Wiggins was huge tonight for them. They gave it all they got and you can tell this group won't have many playoff runs left in them, but they know the meaning of the moment and how to seize it. Hope our guys learn fast.

Did they, though? I mean Curry did and so did Wiggins, but who else really showed up for them? Maybe Kevin Looney.

I think people hype up GS's past championship experience, but they haven't looked like juggernauts in this series at all.

Well, they are not  juggernauts. Like I said, these guys know they don't have many runs left in them. Klay and Draymond are mediocre to bad, and guys like Looney and Poole have their limitations. They understand the moment though and gave it all they got, played smart ball the whole way through. If our guys do the same, we blow them out, so I hope we learn from them.

I blame Smart more than Tatum---cause he dribbled the air out of the ball most of the night--allowing GS to set their defense. ZERO sense of urgency until he started chucking brick 3 point attempts when it was TOO late.

Because smart doesn’t know how to run an offense and get into good sets. Boston’s offense often lacks ball movements and results in lazy shots from deep.

Smart loves to play hero ball.

He's okay as long as he RUNS the ball up court and takes advantage of mis-matches...but he was all smiles when he walked into TD Garden tonight, no intesity until it was too late and he had to chuck up 3 pointers.

Smart also played hero ball in the 3rd. Just generally, a hero-ball half from Smart. When Curry made one, he tried his own step back a couple of times. Two times might not sound like a lot but each possession matters so much in the playoffs.

So this is the first Finals appearance by the Celtics in 12 years....it's incredibly hard to get here---giving away games like this is crazy....if we lose and it takes another 12 years, Tatum will be 36 years old. 

Agree. It's not easy to win a title with 30 teams, a salary cap, the tendency of stars to team up and move from team to team. There will be some teams in this league that will probably go a century or more without winning a title - so when you're this close you have to break through. They may not get this close again - there are certainly no guarantees.

Nothing. I’m convinced they sit around and do nothing.

The C's never got destroyed in any quarter in this game up until the end. That was the biggest problem tonight, they let GS hang around long enough to win it. GS has better shot makers than the C's. That's just the truth.

JT being interviewed, says it's not necessarily about devolving into iso plays, because to move the ball you need people moving off the ball too, and felt they got too much into ball watching in the 4th and that made it harder to move the ball. Marcus alluded to that too.

A lot of times we criticize the ball handler for going iso but we don't look and see that the reason they had to go iso is because there's nobody for them to pass it to, no cutters, nobody running out to set screens or roll to the basket or pop out to the 3 point line.

They didn't have as bad a 3rd as they have in the past, it was a 6 point differential. I thought they survived the 3rd unscathed. It was the 4th where they got untracked in the last 5 mins.

The biggest disappointment to me other than the turnovers throughout the game, and the last of offense in the 2nd half of the 4th, was the rebound disparity. We crushed them in that department in the 3rd game, but they crushed us in the 4th. It may have been because we went small for much of the game but that's a sign of effort. Can't get outworked.

Meh. Of course there is no guarantee.

But we are the best team in the league since january and have one of the best défense of the century. We have still unexperience in this big moments  esp ag a last dance from à dinasty. We heard a lot of fans whinning about Tatum or Brown flukes. They progressed step by step and we can see Tatum getting it in playmaking more and more and Brown exploit better and better his phisicality. They still havz at 24 and 26 so much to progress and their axe of progression are obvious. Maybe they don't have 5he LBJ, Jordan Keller spirits but they are Smart and déterminated.

We have arguably the best position in the league with the money construction in the roster. Only the Horford question for the future. No other teams are in our position. Doncic is the stud but Dallas is week around and still bad contracts. Phoenix showed limitations, GSW is going to the end. Clippers Lakers are disapointing. Embid not have enough around him etc... winning or loosing next year we will be favorite. And if this core finish with just one title it would be kind of disapointing for us 


Whatever in few days all this bla bla will go out and we may just celebrate... or preparing the next season with the confidence we still not assume to get our revenge.

Really believe Boston is a better team. But warriors make far less mistakes and punish Boston for theirs.


And curry can get you a 3 anytime and anywhere. Celtics don’t have that consistent guy who can do that.

We finally have a (semi-) healthy run and we are blowing it. BKN, MIL, PHI, MIA will all be ready to go next season. And who knows how TOR with Barnes and CLE with Mobley will perform?

It is extremely difficult to get to the Finals. Not being ready is not a valid excuse. Our guys are young, but have lots of playoff experience. Tonight’s loss is devastating, but they can make up for it with a W on Monday. Hopefully they can appreciate the opportunity they have in front of them.
