What scares me about this series is I don't think the Jay's are ready to ascend to superstar level yet, while GS has the best player on either team - and he's on a roll.

Brown is doing what he should be doing for the most part. Tatum the best SCORER on the team hasn't had one EXPLOSIVE game since Game 6 in Milwaukee. Whatever he scores on offense is deluted because he turns the ball too much to go along with it.

GS, to their credit, is harrassing the heck out of him whenever he dribbles the ball in the front court. Jaylen is getting the same treatment.

GSW is smart enough to know we don't have anyone that can handle the ball under pressure including our PGs and especially our prime scoring wings

It's one thing to be mad about this loss. It's completely another to go off on these wild pessimistic rants that aren't based in reality.

They aren’t winning on the road.

They're 8-3 on the road. They've *literally* been better on the road this postseason than at home, and they've already won one game in GS, along with one during the season. Stop being ridiculous.

And the same things keep happening. Turnovers and terrible third quarters. Those aren’t magically going to get fixed in two days on the road vs the warriors who now feel they have the series.

 I don’t care about previous series. This is a high Thinking they are going to win multiple games on the road is dangerous.volume 3 point team that can run the Celtics off the court esp in a place where they have only lost one home game.

For what it's worth, we've been better on the road than at home all through the playoffs.

There's a great podcast done by Michael Lewis on the NBA's video replay operation. There are stats apparently that replay has eroded the home court advantage to a certain extent because refs apparently are strongly influenced by a loud home crowd.

Scott Foster was the replay official tonight, if you’re still wondering about why that challenge was unsuccessful.

Yeah, I would love to hear how they did not overturn that. There's literally no explanation for it that makes sense to not overturn that. Curry initiated all the contact, and it was illegal off arm contact at that. At worst it's a no-call.

That said, the refs did not lose us this game. We did it all ourselves.

Love you Tatum but if you’re going to be this inconsistent then you’re probably not a superstar yet. I mean I don’t even think Doncic has nights like this often but Tatum unfortunately does

Two more stats that are telling for our success versus failure - we overwhelmingly win when either:

Tatum has 7 or more assists; and

The team has fewer than 15 turnovers.

Tonight, Tatum had 6 assists and we had exactly 15 turnovers. The recipe for winning is simple, and we still can't follow it.

Tatum needs to be a playmaker.  We've been better when Jaylen has big scoring games; he was the primary initiator in the last two first quarters.  Tatum's capable - he had 13 assists in game one.  I'm somewhat concerned that he gunned tonight just to outscore Jaylen.

The C's need points to close these kind of games out though. They are relying on Horford, Smart, and White to hit shots down the stretch because "the best player" has no involvement in the offense. GS offense is too good to just get by on defense this go around. Tatum disappears then Brown tries to make up for it then poof it's a loss.

Steph, Klay, and Dray have been here so many times. That’s the difference. They’re a squad with championship experience. We can’t say the same about our guys. This is the first finals series for JT and JB as main guys. There will be ups and downs. We finally went over the hump and got to the NBA finals, now it remains to be seen if we’re good enough to win it all.

Okay but “klay and dray” have been awful liabilities, it’s been steph curry and Andrew Wiggins that have killed us.

They have to work out how to defend Curry better. Drop coverage obviously doesn't work on him, but if you come up too much it invites a switch and he cooks bigger players, like he did with Timelord in the 4th. Horford defended him well on one occasion but even LeBron has found it hard to defend Steph one on one at the perimeter. Can't trap either because they have other good shooters. Ime has to figure that out.
