Team plays better on the road…plus needs some scoring bench vets for next season

Agree the Cs play better on the road for what ever reason.  Next season Grant and Payton will be veteran bench players.  Last night Grant played 17 min, took 2 shots and only scored 2pts. Payton played 3:34 min, took one shot and scored 0.  The only other bench player, D White, scored 22pts in 33min.  Ime did not handle his bench well last night.  Payton should have played more than 3+min and Smart should have played less than 40+.  Win Sunday and this discussion moves to the back seat.

Yeah, it'll back to championship aspirations. You guys know that the Heat are the number one seed for a reason right?

let's stop rationalizing these god awful performances and our suckage at home.  there is no way to spin it anymore.

i hope giannis picks up phone and cusses out whole celtics team. YOU BEAT ME? jrue? lopez? and portis with back to back elimination games? but not these clowns who are a triage unit?

Feeling angry. The Heat are well coached and deserve credit for making shots/plays.

But I don't like our level of intensity in this series at all. We were out for blood against Milwaukee, but look weirdly passive sometimes here.

I feel we would give the Warriors a great series, and quite possibly win that series. The Heat will not. That is incredibly frustrating. We play to the perceived level of our competition.

This club very much needs to finish these playoffs strong. These opportunities are fleeting.

Look at the OKC Durant teams. Made the finals, choked, then somehow never got back there.

The time is now. Be the aggressor. Attack relentlessly at both ends.  Use our superior athleticism to generate advantages. Make life easier, not harder by making the smart play.

Learn to play and win as a favorite.

everybody should be beyond ticked off. fans. players. coaches. staff. GM. ownership and even the BUCKS for reasons i stated earlier.

i agree. 4th ECF in 6 years?  how many other teams wish they had that many shots? just because we are young does NOT mean these chances will still be there moving forward. you have to strike while iron is hot and capitalize. yeah outmatched in 2017 i get it. 2018 we were young and choked, ok   covid bubble could have been anomaly but we beat the defending champ raps then lost to heat. this year we beat defending champs bucks and are now in a huge predicament yet again against the heat.

no guarantee we beat philly or heat or bucks or even nets next year or year after.

i do not recall OKC Choking. a choke is when you blow a big lead or a series lead usually a big one. i think OKC was just outclassed by lebron. so i guess blowing a 3-2 lead we could call minor choking? LOL. to me a real choke is 3-1 or 3-0 leads being blown or a big lead in a game.

It felt like a big choke. Both those Jaylen free throws looked like it and then the Celtics fouling and complaining when they’re still right in it. I don’t get the way they came out against this hobbled team but they’re human. I’m not an nba player. I don’t know. It would be jaw dropping to NOT make the finals, in my opinion.

I give us a 61% chance to win. I just can't imagine we have two terrible games in a row but also, Game 7 being on the road is tough. Then again, maybe this team loves playing on the road more than home lol?

I’m worried, mostly due to ongoing injuries to Tatum, Smart, and R Williams not to mention G Williams looks banged up and Horford looks a little worn out. Playing every other day going back to the Bucks series in back to back very physical series has not provided any breathing room for them.

Regarding the injuries first with Tatum. Anyone who has had a pinched nerve in the shoulder area like myself, knows exactly what Tatum is going through. It is not fun to deal with at all, it comes and goes, and where the pinched nerve is can disrupt his shooting motion. When Smart rolled his ankle, it looked very bad as I thought he was likely done for the playoffs. If it were the regular season my guess he wouldn’t be playing. I know he’s had other nagging injuries as well. With Rob Williams, I also doubt he would be playing if it were the regular season as he’s obviously still trying to recover fully from surgery. White has been playing great, and I wonder if a lot has to do with being fresher than his teammates.

I know the Heat are banged up too, so I’m not trying to make excuses for them, just want to point out how the injuries can affect their play.

If we can manage to win game 7, the NBA finals games will be more spread out which should help us out a lot. Just need to grind out another win hopefully.

even if we win this is an anomaly and do not expect it to continue. we have to win home games in playoffs. you cannot count on what we are doing to last.  we are sweeping lots of issues under the rug to hope and pray we can pull this out our butt in miami a THIRD TIME. let that sink in. A THIRD TIME.

Confident. It’s hard to win 3 straight games in the ECF against a tested, experience opponent. We won two straight and we’ll bounce back to take game 7.

Disappointed and frustrated.  Even if they win (an outcome I'm not very confident of) they really could have used the extra rest before starting the finals on the road.

This team had home-court twice in this series and failed to capitalize them, twice.

Despite having an exceptional road record, I feel not confident about Game 7. You can only win one too many road games in the playoffs. And...the scary thing is they haven't lost b2b yet. These guys are trigger-happy with turnovers, just taking bad 29-foot 3-pointers and bricking them, and getting outrebounded on offensive boards for some weird reason. 50/50 shot winning but my mind tells me Heat takes this in 7.

Milwaukee would have swept this crappy Heat team, there is no excuse to lose to Fat old man Flopper Lowry and the rest of these bums.

I still feel confident we can beat the heat, not so much about the finals, a few more days of rest will make a huge difference, we are not doing ourselves any favours.

Team plays better on the road…plus needs some scoring bench vets for next season

If we go by recent history, one should feel pretty good about this game.

I never feel good generally, although contrary to my typical anticipatory anxiety, I was pretty confident about Game 6.  During the game I kept expecting the C's to catch fire and have one of those 6 minute stretches where we'd out-defense and out-offense the Heat and go up double-digits.  That didn't happen even though there were a few moments where it seemed it might... when they went up 4 (I think Tatum's 3 then had the ball up 4), after DW's last three when they had momentum and energy and went up 3 --  I thought "OK, here we go".   That's what I get for optimism.

So, I'll ignore recent history that tells me that the C"s play well in must wins in the playoffs and on the road, and I'll pick the Heat.

So your alternative is to panic and rant? Well, it's the Celticsblog way but the pressure is still on the Heat.
