If we don’t come out with a smoking hot start, miamis home court will actually matter in this game 7 and we will not be in the finals…an extremely average, hobbled heat team will be.

Weak take, but that’s kind of your thing. They’re not extremely average. They might not have an all star team, but they are very tough and determined. Spo is a very good coach. Pat Riley has assembled pieces that fit together. No need to diminish the Heat to somehow feel better. Let’s go resiliency. Let’s go Celtics!

This is by far the weakest team Boston has played in the ECF and that is going back to 2008. That roster is heavily flawed. Not diminishing anyone…it is the truth. Best player is hurt. Tucker and Lowry are old. And then you have a bunch of G league guys.

Even my buddy who is a heat fan says Boston is better. Difference is that killer instinct that Tatum and company lack right now.

Dude, you’re basically responding without reading my post. Riley out together pieces that work together as a team. Why does it matter that some were in the G league? It’s about the team, not the individual players. Jeesh. No need to think they’re weak. They just took a team with more individual talent to Game 7. Doesn’t that make the Celtics look relatively weak?

Butler went for 47.

Bam is a wrecking ball.

Lowry is hurt but tough as nails. So is Tucker. So is Oladipo.

I def respect what has been done in Miami. I will feel fortunate when the Celtics get it done on Sunday. Let’s go Celtics!

I really think we will win it and maybe quiet confortably. Smart Horford Grant Pritchard being all negative or non factor won't come again. Butler doing two lebronesque performances to reach the final is also a big odd. If he does it and win it in the clutch time so bravo à lui...
Jaylen Horford Smart all of them will want to react. I really hope Marcus concentrate on canalising his energy controlling pace and give a defensive player of the year performance. I just hope nobody is touched mentally. But I don't believe.

If Miami win it without à blowout it will still be a terrific season. For Tatum who is one of the 3 young potential perenial MVP of the league at 24. For Udoka who fit very well with the corr and the team, Stevens Smart choices, Dannys last gift with his last drafts reach... And for us. The résilience and RS +PO run should give us respect and hope for this team. They are not chokers they are not IT or Kirie team. It is year one of something. And it smells the begening of a long term contender even maybe a légendaire team in the making. I believe.

Ended the regular season as the No1 team in the East, not bad for a weak team

These Miami teams post-LeBum are always Z-rated by people because there are no stars, and it flies in the face of conventional NBA wisdom that you need stars on your team to be successful. Their headliners like Buckets and Bam are definitely hurt, and they have "G-league guys" like Strus, Robinson and Vincent in their rotation but Miami always find these discards that other teams have tossed away and they get the most out of them with someone like Spoelstra. These are players with chips on their shoulder, with something to prove. I just feel it's disrespectful to write them off. They're a team where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, which is a tribute to Riley and Spoelstra. They have a solid culture over in Miami, that's for sure.

That said, Milwaukee and Brooklyn have a better pedigree than Miami and we beat them. I think we're the better team. If we play better than them we should win. But Miami have to be respected. Hopefully the players didn't share the same condescending attitude towards the Heat as some of the folks in this thread, thinking they're just a bunch of G-leaguers that will roll over, because that's when they get in trouble.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Ticked off.  Home court means nothing.  Confused.

Lousy. If you can't bring it home in a close-out game against one player I don't see anything but us getting blown out in Miami. I certainly hope I am wrong. We don't value the ball. We consistently turn the ball over carelessly. That leads to losses. Unfortunately, I think we would be a much greater matchup with GSW. When Miami beats us like step children on Sunday they will proceed to lose 4 straight to GSW.

Not happy, that's for sure.  However, I am still optimistic that the Cs will win this series and move on to GS.  Go Cs!

Already given up eh? Come on it's okay not to be happy but to have a defeatist attitude? Gotta believe! ;D

just the fact we could only muster ONE DANG WIN at home is preposterous. people can say how good we are on road etc and while it is true road games are supposed to be tougher. you normally cannot rely on winning any of these if you suck at home.

we re tempting fate now and pushing the law of averages. we now have to win 3 road games. tell me how many teams have done that lately in playoffs?

if you have HCA you have to win ZERO road games IF you win at home. even if you do not have HCA all you have to do is win 1 road game to win a series IF you again. take care of business at home.
we have already won TWO ROAD games in each series.

not saying we cannot do it but we SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS is the point. this is nuts. we suck so bad at home we have to win not 1, not 2 but THREE games in miami?

stuff like this would never work if we were playing lebrons heat, or lebrons cavs, etc. you are lucky to get 1 win on road and now we need a third. crazy pills the hole we continuously put ourselves in.

Weak takes are definitely your thing too. How many times did you tell other posters that refs don’t matter? You have egg on your face today.

Probably win in Miami but done in 5-6 against gs.

They don't have the mental toughness to go for the KO and they don't have Silver's blessing it seems.

They had to win this game to get res

Agree the Cs play better on the road for what ever reason.  Next season Grant and Payton will be veteran bench players.  Last night Grant played 17 min, took 2 shots and only scored 2pts. Payton played 3:34 min, took one shot and scored 0.  The only other bench player, D White, scored 22pts in 33min.  Ime did not handle his bench well last night.  Payton should have played more than 3+min and Smart should have played less than 40+.  Win Sunday and this discussion moves to the back seat.

Also.....it absolutely is true Miami is a team with one star and scrubs around him. They should be embarrassed they're getting wrecked by roster filler.

Yeah, it'll back to championship aspirations. You guys know that the Heat are the number one seed for a reason right?

and if we choke this away i will have to bet big money on GS. they will wipe floor with miami. GS is undefeated at home throughout playoffs. now that IS HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE
