You know the drill…

Honestly at this point I just can’t wrap my head about how bad the team has been playing in home games during the postseason. We’re  5-4 and had to win on a buzzer beater in game 1 against Brooklyn. It’s mind-boggling, it’s almost turning into an homecourt disadvantage (the only exception being game 7 against Milwaukee).

On the flipside we’re a great road team and have always bounced back strongly after a loss but I’m heading into game 7 preparing for the worst. Which means that we’ll finally run out of gas after heading into the danger zone one more - and last - time.

I fully except us to miss open shots over and over again while Miami’s role players and stars, now fully confident and at home, hit all of theirs. Obviously we can still win but I’m not feeling it at this point.

We can definitely win but it will be super disappointing.

We should have swept this Heat team that’s basically playing one healthy starter.

Why do we consistently turn the ball over and take dumb hero shots like it’s no body’s business?

This is ridiculous.

As I said few days ago. We are team with tones of talent but still immature.

These guys have consistently failed to get past the ECF and I don't see that changing, unfortunately.  They certainly have the talent, but just can't seem to get the job done.

Zero confidence. Don’t think it will be close as Boston just can’t take the next step.

Posted this in another thread. This is all part of the growing for this team. They have to learn as a group that there are no shortcuts, there are no easy games, no matter what the previous game's scoreline was. We've dominated for large stretches of this series, but we've lost key moments that have led to losing games. The team has to recognize those moments, those are the moments that determine championships. Championship players recognize those moments and seize them. They're the better team but they have to play better, all the time, not just most of the time, because moments can swing games.

I'm fatalistic when it comes to these things. If we don't win this series it will be because we were unable to recognize those moments and rise to the occasion and we will not have deserved to move on. But I think they will. When their backs are to the wall are when they play to their best. Just as Buckets redeemed his legacy by dragging the Heat to victory in G6, so now the Jays have to do the same in a G7 with everything up for grabs. Can they rise to the occasion? I think so. They have every time they've faced adversity. I think they've earned the right to not be written off after a bad game.

I will say that I don't think Smartacus is 100% and he may be forcing himself to do things he's not capable of doing. I'd rather he sit out if he's not 100% because he doesn't make the greatest decisions when he's not 100%. He tends to start to play hero ball when he senses the Jays aren't fully into the game and we don't need that.

Because we ourselves are flawed, mainly on the mental side. We switch off now and then and those prove costly. Also, it's easy to disrespect the Heat because they look like they suck on paper, but they did finish No.1 in the East and they are the type of team where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. A "character" team. But we're better and I think we will prove it in Game 7.

They have another level of focus that they will reach in game 7.  I wish they were there in game 6, but I'm confident that the team will do what they have to do to win game 7.  I think it will be a blowout too.

If we don’t come out with a smoking hot start, miamis home court will actually matter in this game 7 and we will not be in the finals…an extremely average, hobbled heat team will be.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Not particularly.

Going to be hard to count on 30 points on 12 FGA from Tatum again, or an amazing shooting night from Derrick White again. Yes, we had our issues - especially with Horford and Smart - but at the very least, those duos should even themselves out.

Basically, we just have to hope that Miami doesn't hit all of their 3s again. It really just comes down to that and I don't really know how that's predictable.

We haven’t lost back to back games this playoffs. That doesn’t mean we can’t — but it does mean Ime and the guys do an excellent job of adjusting and bouncing back. They show poise and resilience. I expect them to do so on Sunday.

Once again, if you don’t make careless turnovers at the top of the key and give away fast break baskets, you win. Those are largely unforced errors.

If Tatum and Brown run the offense in H2, you win.

If the staff recognizes when Smart doesn’t have it and lets White run with it, you win.

Too bad we didn’t do that but those are things they’ll review and amend. On the Sunday. C’s in 7. And it’ll be so, so sweet to do it in Miami.

Weak take, but that’s kind of your thing. They’re not extremely average. They might not have an all star team, but they are very tough and determined. Spo is a very good coach. Pat Riley has assembled pieces that fit together. No need to diminish the Heat to somehow feel better. Let’s go resiliency. Let’s go Celtics!

This is by far the weakest team Boston has played in the ECF and that is going back to 2008. That roster is heavily flawed. Not diminishing anyone…it is the truth. Best player is hurt. Tucker and Lowry are old. And then you have a bunch of G league guys.

Even my buddy who is a heat fan says Boston is better. Difference is that killer instinct that Tatum and company lack right now.

Weak takes are definitely your thing too. How many times did you tell other posters that refs don’t matter? You have egg on your face today.
