Ime spoke and said they are still figuring things out, but Horford could still end up playing Game 2.

They found out Horford wouldn't be available tonight just a few hours ago

Woj is saying through at least game 2. We can possibly steal game 2 if Smart is back. Tonight is going to be tough.

Man, that could really change the series. If Boston were to go down 0-2 without Horford which is possible - not certain but possible. They'd need to win 4 of the next 5. Doable but very little margin for error. It could put the whole series in doubt.

Curious to see if Ime goes with a 7-man rotation or if Nesmith gets a little time.  My guess is he sticks with 7.

Without Horford we'll be more vulnerable to the zone. We needed his passing & shot making & ball-handling in the high post. Heat should try to exploit this.

White can handle that zone... TIMELORD is an excellent passer.

At the risk of being zapped, I think the NBA has redefined “health and safety protocols” to encompass more than Covid.  For example, Scott Foster missed reffing Game 6 for health and safety protocols that was clarified as not Covid.  So it’s possible Horford has the flu or some other virus that is symptomatically similar to Covid (norovirus) and is being held out for that (which is why he might be available for game 2).

Kio: This is fine cuz it's not discussing the merits of the protocols but the effects its having on our games ♥

TP, thanks for understanding the rule :]

.edit: and for the record - sorry we gotta be strict about this. want this to be a fun thread for as many people as possible

Timelord can pass but he is no threat to score. They can play off of him.

White is inconsistent outside shooter who can be vulnerable to zones.

Wow no Smart & Al plus TimeLord still hurting..going be tough to win 2 in Miami

Curious to see if Ime adds anyone to the rotation. 7 man rotation with just PP and Theis off the bench with a less then 100% Rob will be tough especially off a quick turn around. Does Nesmith get a shot at some playing time?

Who is in our 8 man rotation tonight. I don’t believe we can play Robert Williams 40 minutes.
He might need to do in order to matchup with Bam. Theis has struggled with Bam in the past. Grant Williams does well one-on-one but struggles to rebound and provides no rim protection so that creates other problems. Rob Williams is the only well-rounded matchup in terms of defense & rebounding.

Without Horford to spell him, Rob might need to go for 35-40minutes. If he can ....

Not a pretty picture right now. Horford is a huge loss.

I reckon Horford's been the biggest "calming factor" and reliable player in the whole of our playoffs appearances. Really sad to see this, especially since it might last a while

Plz Rob, be your super-powered self again :'|

Pritchard's outside shooting could be a big swing factor tonight.

Yes.

Folks, let's not get into covid discussions here other than how Horford's absence is affecting our ballgame, thanks.

And yeah, that's mod colours right there :')

Pritchard's outside shooting could be a big swing factor tonight.

We also have other shooters on the bench that could help bomb the zone.
