match up wise, I'd say, we got this...
I just hope, Strus, Herro and Robinson don't have a lot of open 3s... these guys are dangerous.
Jimmy Buckets will show up and deliver, too. I hope the Jays don't foul out early. :D

C's in 6

Big difference between Milwaukee and Miami is you don't have Gianni's barreling down at you where you might have to double. which opens up the shooters. And we still were pretty decent at closing out on them. Tatum should be able to take Jimmy then stay on all their shooters.

Honestly, this is the series where we need Robert Williams. He will be more effective against the heat than against the length of Milwaukee. Hopefully the added rest from yesterday not needing to play will have him ready

I'm with you, but I do think Miami is underrated in general. So I'll say Celtics in 6 but I think we'll go down 2-1 in the first three to Miami.

whoever said one of the keys is we don't play idiotball I agree

I think ironically the risk might be that, given the Heat have such good shooters, our guys might try to outshoot them. NO!

Another chapter in Ime's young career of overcoming the stupid habits the Celts sometimes fall into.

I think we'll recognise the huge advantage we have inside. Jimmy Butler is the second tallest guy in their starting lineup, as opposed to Milwaukee with Giannis and Lopez. Even Bam is only Horford's size. Tatum & Brown are both too long for Miami if we can effectively space against them.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Hopefully they'll lick their chops whenever they see nerds like Herro. Even Smart can kick their ass. (Before people flame me, I'm also a fat nerd desk jockey).

Smart taking Herro into the low post would be ideal!

Underestimate international superstar Tyler Herro at your own peril.

in theory, if the C's have Timelord playing close to what he was at pre-injury, the C's should be able to control the defensive boards much better than they did against the height of Milwaukee but Bam has shown he can be a one-man force on the boards for Miami.  Miami is very different from the Bucks in that they have more reliable outside shooters.  Can't expect Miami to shoot from 3 as poorly as the Bucks.

would it benefit us to chase them off the 3 line moreso and chance it with them making 2's in the paint or midrange??
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Cs in 6. We were the best team in the NBA over the last two months of the season and we've had by far the toughest playoff opponents.

Let’s take a look (Advantage):

Starting Rotation
Gabe Vincent vs. Marcus Smart (Celtics)
Max Strus vs. Jaylen Brown (Celtics)
Jimmy Butler vs. Jayson Tatum (Celtics)
PJ Tucker vs. Grant Williams (Celtics)
Bam Adebayo vs. Al Horford (Heat)

Bench
Tyler Herro vs. Payton Pritchard (Heat - assuming health)
Victor Oladipo vs. Derrick White (Heat - assuming health)
Dedmon vs. Timelord (Celtics - assuming health)
Wildcard: Kyle Lowry (pending availability - assuming health)

This series is going to come down to health of the bench IMO.

Celtics in 6.

I omitted another key aspect of this series: adjustments.

Can Udoka manage/win the game of adjustment game-to-game vs. Spoelstra.

One other significant omission which speaks to my ultimate conclusion that the bench is going to be significant in this series.

Duncan Robinson

I feel like we just never really compromise anything on D. But maybe I'm wrong. Even with Giannis we recovered really well when we gambled.

Sometimes it looks like we're running a zone out there because we're so switchy and well-connected. This is in spite of some of the better shooting teams we'd played in the regular season.

Celtics in 5.

The Celtics are too great of a team with greater individual players and an elite defense.

The Heat’s only straw is the schedule and their depth giving them an early advantage. They won the series in 2020 by finding and attacking mismatches. Kemba isn’t here to post up and Theis is on the bench for the Bam pick and roll; no mismatches, Horford and RW3 to defend Bam.

The defense has improved, the offense has improved, Tatum, Jaylen, Smart, RWIII, and the bench have improved. We dominated long stretches of that series and wilted late with few answers for the Kemba abuse and Bam p’n’r spam that also led to poor offensive execution (when you’re overworked on defense trying to help, good luck on offense).

The Nets sweep and the resilience of Bucks Game 6 and 7 were truly game changers. It is no coincidence this team has defeated 2 of the last 3 teams to eliminate us, are facing the 3rd, and have a chance to face the NBA’s last dynasty. This team is winning the Championship, this season.
