"Bro, you've got to chill with this crap. He wasn't throwing anyone under the bus, but re-watching it he in fact is right. No idea what Al and Tatum are doing there. They don't even start moving to get Tatum open until like three seconds after White gets the ball. If they were trying to get Tatum the ball for real, then that's on Al and Tatum because they weren't doing what was needed to get the ball".

This is correct. Both Ime and Grant Williams are looking not at Smart but at the other side of the court over to Horford and Tatum. Both those guys literally wait three full seconds after Derek White gets the ball before they move - on a five second count... brutal.

Same thing he did all game long. Nothing.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

LOL.  I was hoping for a bit more basketball insight.  The man he was trying to box out, Mathews, I think, moved completely across the key and Grant went all the way with him.  I would think he should just let Mathews go and trust that Al had that side of the rim instead of completely vacating the right side. But, I never played basketball beyond grade school so I don't know if there was something to what he did.

Now I'm praying for Scott Foster for Game 6 on Friday.

Yeah, he's our only hope. The NBA has to be hoping for a 7-game series and he is just the man to do it.

What really sucks is that we can't even blame the refs tonight. They mostly stayed out of the way and we still completely blew it.

So far we've had each of the bad ones already. Scott Foster, Zach Zarba, Tony Brothers, Marc Davis. Back to Scott Foster it is!

I'm not calling for ime to be fired, but even I with very limited knowledge of the game knows you put your bigs into the game for a rebound.

They tend to overthink too much I guess.

Ime Udoka: "Offensive rebounds. Story of the game"

Marcus Smart leading the offense, story of the game.
Jayson Tatum bricking 3's in the first half while up 14 points, story of the game.
Grant Williams doing nothing really, story of the game.
Daniel Theis sitting on the bench, story of the game.
Timelord, in street clothes, story of the game.
Jaylen Brown with careless ball handles, story of the game.
Ime Udoka, story of the game.

Yes, Brown is my binkie but he had only two turnovers. He also had an extremely efficient 26 with 8 rebounds and six assists. He played great defense. Claiming Jaylen was careless with a 3 to 1 turnover ratio is just not true. He also carried the team on his back in the third. It's not his fault Udoka kept him out too long and iced him.

Lots to complain about in this game but 4 guys that were great were Horford, Brown, Theis and White.

Smart had the rebound, Game Over....but Jaylen knocked it out of his hands right to Bug-eyed Portis.

Tonight was the best and worst of the Celtics. From team to staff, they have no one else to blame but themselves.

They just went away from what had been successful for them the first 3.5 quarters and tried to run the clock out the the last 6 minutes. It worked against Brooklyn but not tonight. It's what pressure does to you.

But thankfully for them they have one more life - on Friday. Best forget about this one as quickly as possible and move on.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Lead after Lead tonight all blown...Simply awful, how many times did we barely get the ball past half court in time in the 4th?...Walking the ball up the court-trying to kill the clock. Ime's gotta make sure to secure that rebound--even if he had to put Tacko Fall in the game---geezzus man, how about Luke?...Timelord in street clothes???

I don't get why you have TL in street clothes to begin with in the playoffs. He surely couldve come in to get that rebound at least if he can walk.

I cant remember the last time I was as pi$$ed about a loss as tonight

So frustrating

Worst loss of my lifetime watching the C's

2010 Game 7?
2012 Game 7?
2018 Game 7?

Maybe the poster is very young? In any case, 2010 dwarfs this loss by a mile. It was the Finals vs the Lakers and we got screwed by an injury that we couldn't overcome.

The 2021-22 team isn't deep, doesn't close games well, lacks a superior floor general, and has a rookie head coach. It's still better than I expected and a Game 6 win will flip the narrative. If not, there's plenty to be optimistic about going forward.

So, did we lose two games because we had the ball on a players' fingertips at the buzzer?  How key was Derrick White missing credit for that shot to end the first half by probably 1/100th of a second.  Ugh.
