FWIW, his HOF index is only .1223.

Just behind Kemba and right above D-Rose.

He's had a very solid career but he's not a HOFer.

What's Al's bonus for the championship again?

"He would get $19,500,000 guaranteed if his team makes it to the NBA Finals in 2021/22"

Fully guaranteed next year if the C’s win.

I see Horford as a borderline case for the HoF. He might have to wait 15-25yrs after his career ends but he may get in some time during a weaker draft class. Winning consistently over a long period of time & exemplifying team basketball and winning basketball on both ends of the floor carries a lot of value. As does the two NCAA rings as noted above by others.

If he could get a ring here in Boston this season, that would give his case a major boost. That would move him from borderline into more likely than not. Especially if he could maintain this level of play throughout the playoffs as he has been terrific so far in the whole playoffs.

Eat it, Giannis!

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

It's so epic that Al's rare elation led to him totally laying Giannis out on the ground and he didn't even know he did it. The best part is that it came after the whistle, so no flagrant, no 2 FTs, and not even a personal foul added to his total.

I think the bar is so low for the NBA HOF that he probably gets in.
it's the 'basketball' hall of fame, not the NBA HOF.  Horford's 2 NCAA titles as the best player on his teams carry some real weight in that voting

Yeah, if he makes it it would be more because of his college career. If he adds an NBA title to his NCAA titles then I would say he's probably a lock. His NBA career clearly isn't enough, but it isn't the NBA Hall of Fame.
I'm bitter.

It was great. Al hit Giannis in the face intentionally. About time someone gave him a taste of his own medicine…  :)

Even Al being a threat to go get another 30 changes the game. Everyone on the floor needs to be a threat to score. In game 5 the Bucks will have to give AL more attention. I think it was mentioned many times during game three that Al was passing up to many shots in favor of kicking the ball out.

Al has some of that passivity offensively that KG had. Hopefully Ime can get him to continue to be aggressive. I’d like to see him take 12 shots a game. Let Tatum take 18, Brown 16, and Smart 10. Pritchard needs to be getting more looks as well. He played 13 mins last night and had 2 shots. That is not acceptable. He might be the best pure shooter on the team. Coach needs to find a way to get him involved.

If the C's win a championship though, that doubles to 24%.

A quick eye-balling the list in that range (and for guys playing mostly in the more modern era of 80s and beyond), would his closest comparison be Laimbeer (26%, 4x All-Star, 2x champ) but not in the Hall?

Even the 12% though puts him in the Chris Webber, Bernard King range, so it's possible. If he does get in, definitely seems like the type of guy who gets in after 25-30 years.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

At the risk of getting into a crazy hypothetical, if we won a championship this year and next year it would become a bit of a reasonable discussion.
