…is it enough to push Big Al into the HOF? Obviously not first-ballot, but I think so. Not only is Al playing for nearly $30 million, but he’s also playing for legacy. Heart of a champion. This is it, baby.

Yes, if we extrapolate this career game consistently for the rest of the playoffs and his entire career there’s really no stopping him.

Next stop, White House?

Already a hall of famer. 2 college titles and a hell of an NBA career. The guy is a winner plain and simple.

Not likely, but possible.  He's not a stats horse, but his advanced numbers are strong. Very strong glue guy that plays better in the playoffs. I was thrilled when we got him back.

Maybe the biggest mistake I ever made as a prognosticator. I thought Al would be about 75% of what we had a few years ago. He’s like 125%!

I would be very surprised if Al makes the Hall as of now

Can someone watch all the Philly games and explain how he didn't work there?

Awesome player.  His counting numbers probably don't get him into the Hall, although the two titles at Florida help.

IMO he never looked comfortable with those guys on the court ,  he looked like a child confused  and lost away from home , kinda not sure why he was there at times.  Then he was sent off to OKC salvage yard for washed up players ,  a sort of mental prison.   He wasn’t ready for the old players home .

I think he is just  super glade to be back in Boston in a system that works for him.

...people will have to stop referring to the trade as giving up a first round pick to dump Kemba's contract.

Al has been amazing, really all season, but especially in the playoffs and especially in the 4th last night.  I never bought into this first round pick to dump Kemba narrative, I expected Al to be useful, at least better than Kemba, but I will happily admit that I absolutely never saw this level of play coming from Al.

And the whole thing with Philly baffles me also (I had posted on this elsewhere).  You look at that team and you look at the versatility Al has shown playing PF for us and he seems like the perfect player to put out there with Embiid.  One of the greatest skills that Al has is that he can play any way you need him to play.  Another institutional miss by the Sixers.

And no, I don't see Al as a hall of famer but there was a debate earlier as to whether Draymond Green is a HoFer so who knows.  I guess "anything is possibllllleeee".  A title with him playing a key role would certainly help.

I think the bar is so low for the NBA HOF that he probably gets in.

He’s been one of the more undervalued NBA player across his career. His range of counting stats have been crazy consistent throughout:

PPG: Lowest - 10.1 (rookie) - Highest - 18.6

Rebounds: Lowest - 6.7 - Highest - 10.2

Assists: Lowest - 1.5 (rookie) - Highest - 5

Steals: Lowest - 0.7 - Highest - 1.1

Blocks: Lowest - 0.9 - Highest - 1.5

TOs: Lowest - 2.2 - Highest - 0.9

FG%: Lowest -  45% - Highest - 57%

3FG% (since starting to take them in 15-16):
Lowest - 34% - Highest - 43%

people are constantly complaining on the internet how "low the bar is" to make the hall of fame. Like, why do they care so much? People are goofy. Im all for them letting in more players.

it's the 'basketball' hall of fame, not the NBA HOF.  Horford's 2 NCAA titles as the best player on his teams carry some real weight in that voting
