Giannis was just on today. Didn't really matter who was guarding him, he just did whatever he wanted to do, whenever he wanted to do it. There is a reason he is BY FAR the best player in the world. He is just a man among boys out there.
You mean Mr. Bowling Ball? Hey Mr. Ball, you are not going to get those non-calls every game. Best player? ha. Jokic is far more skilled and Embiid is as well.
this post is just nonsense. Giannis is without question the best player in the world. It isn't close
How do you figure Giannis is better? Jokic leads him in almost every statistical category. He led the Nuggets to 48 wins without having the 2nd and 3rd best player on his team.. please explain.
Giannis plays defense. He is the best defender in the sport (or at least top 3). Jokic is better than a guy who can't guard a chair, but not much. Giannis is much more versed offensively. He can handle the ball and has the ability to blow by people, back them down, etc. Jokic has never had and never will the ability to apply that sort of pressure. That also allows Giannis to get to the line a lot. He just puts pressure on you defensively because you can't take him out of his game. Jokic was incredibly ineffective in large portions of the Warriors series playing against a team whose starting center was Kevon Looney and who often had a 6'7" Draymond playing center. And Jokic couldn't do anything for large stretches of the series. The Nuggets were actually significantly better when Jokic wasn't in the game in the playoffs. Even when Giannis is off, the Bucks are almost always better with him on the floor, especially in the post season.
Giannis is the best player in the world. It isn't close.
I think he's the best player in the world too, but I disagree that it's not close. I think it is close and we will know the truth in less than two weeks. The C's are a perfect test.
Whenever a player has achieved clear separation from everyone else, historically, their team has become roughly a 50/50 bet to win a title. It usually takes a very talented team to stop such a player, and there really are no breakout teams this year, except possibly us.
Giannis has the gifts to claim such a position, but he hasn't so far. If that's what he is, he will roll through us, Miami/Philly and Phoenix and be champ again, because Embiid is compromised and there isn't a rival player left to stand against him. I don't think Doncic and the Mavs have enough. So Giannis is in a great position to run the table again.
But what I see is that it looks like this Celtics team may be able to take him down. Minus one of the worst game of Tatum's career, we'd be easily up 2-1.
So these playoffs will tell us if you are right.
