I say we sweep the Bucks.  I think once Rob gets his timing back, we will be unstoppable.  If we can scheme defend Durant, I think we can do it vs Giannis.

Celtics in 7 because the basketball gods favor the Celtics at home for not trying to avoid the Nets.

And here's hoping this thread jinxing the Bucks and the Bulls pull a massive upset.

Chicago Bulls' Zach LaVine enters health and safety protocols ahead of Game 5. Caruso is in concussion protocol.

If Bucks don't win Wednesday, I'll change my prediction from Cs winning in 7 to winning in 5.

Do we know when round 2 will start? If I remember correctly the NBA doesn't wait for all first round matchups to be finished before starting the second round.
So in theory if Milwaukee wraps it up tonight, could we be seeing a Friday or Saturday game 1?

Does MIL tank the next game or two to extend it out to delay the start of the BOS series so they can get Middleton back earlier in that series when they'll need him?

Bucks play game 5 on Wednesday. If they win league sources told masslive that the round 2 matchup will start this weekend. So it could be a Saturday night game, or Sunday at 1. Would be my guess.

If the Bucks win their series in five or six games, league sources tell MassLive that Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals could start as soon as Sunday afternoon (or even Saturday night if the Bucks win in 5). If the Bulls-Bucks series goes seven games, the series would begin on next Tuesday. Boston will host Game 1 of any potential series against Milwaukee or Chicago at the TD Garden after securing homecourt advantage for their second round series on the final day of the regular season.

Yeah it could also depend on how some of these other series go. Only two series right now are 2-2, the rest have teams that could clinch either today or tomorrow.

Whenever it starts it will be the NBA's showcase series again.

Yup.

I just hope we don't get any more Brian Anderson/Stan Van Gundy.

They've been painful to listen to.

Milwaukee was always the team that I thought would be the toughest to beat in the East. If we beat them I feel that either Philly or Miami will be easier. Milwaukee match up against us really well, they have a two (actually three) big lineup with Giannis, Lopez and Portis, they have four guys in their rotation shooting 40% from 3 in Holiday, Allen, Connaughton, Portis and another 3 shooting 35% in Middleton (our killer), Lopez and Ibaka. And 3 of those are bigs. They have a lot of length and rim protectors so defensively they will be much better than Brooklyn. Middleton out is a big loss for them but they're still a solid team. And stopping Giannis has its own set of challenges different to stopping KD, because of the physicality that he presents, and Giannis will have shooters all around him.

I expected the Nets series to be done in 5 games but this one I wouldn't be surprised if it goes the distance, unless we can steal one on their floor. This is where getting 2nd vs 3rd seed against them could make the difference. They're certainly not unbeatable, as Chicago have proven, but we need to treat this one with respect. Sure we swept the Nets but it was a very close sweep. Game 1 we needed a buzzer beater, Game 2 we had to come back from 15+ down, Game 3 we needed a 39 burger from Tatum for a 6 point win and Game 4 we closed it to 1 in the final couple of minutes. So it's not like we thrashed them.

I hope that the closeness of the contest, against a flawed Nets side where the stars underperformed, will give the team food for thought as they prepare for this team. Milwaukee are much more together as a team than Brooklyn were, even without Middleton they have a strong team ethic and they're the defending champs.

We need to approach whoever we play against with confidence but humility, and maintain the composure we had in this series, where we didn't panic whenever the Nets went on a run. I have faith in the team to develop and stick to a game plan to nullify Giannis and take away Milwaukee's shooters, and I have confidence in JT and JB to lead our offense. If we can maintain our mental approach we should be in good stead against whoever we have to play.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Boston in 5. I think they take the first two and last two games of the series.

Giannis may be the best player in the world(?), but he scores the majority of his points in the paint. If Timelord is 100% ready, we got the players to slow him down. Midds is a massive blow for them. He's their primary shot creator in the clutch.

Celts in 6! The Bucks are a legit force though. It's gonna be a hell of a series!

Boston in 6.

I'm curious what the defensive strategy will be. With the Nets, the Celtics geared everything toward stopping Durant and Kyire and let the Nets role players have their way. Obviously, that strategy worked.

But I wonder if they won't go into Milwaukee with the opposite mentality. Maybe against Milwaukee the move will be to say, Giannis is going to get his but as long as everyone else is locked down the Celtics will win.
