Cs are still not good at closing out good teams. Both teams are good enough to win on each other's court. Cs were the better team after January and had a better tune-up in the first round.  In the end, I just think we're the better team now even if they're the champs.

Cs in 7
We just won 4 close games in a row against a team many thought would beat us in a 7 game series. Strange to say we're not good at closing out good teams when we just swept a title favourite.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I never thought they were a title favorite. Did you?

Prior to the Harden trade and Kyrie's decision to not get vaccinated I thought they had a chance. They were very close to making the finals last year. About an inch away to be precise.

But they're still a good team. I remember people calling them things like "the best 7 seed ever" and whatnot. They have an MVP level player, a secondary unstoppable scorer, and a few troublesome role players. I would call them a good team, and we closed them out in 4 tight ones.

So you didn't think they were a title contender either by the time they had limped into the post-season.

I don't think we played our best in sweeping them and I think it was late-game management and some substitution mistakes by Ime that the Nets weren't good enough to overcome. KD really didn't have one good game and Cryie had only one even though we focused on KD.

 This is easy.

Celtics is Four. We are going 16 and 0 and we are taken the 2017 Warriors spot for most dominant postseason ever.

No surprise whatsoever, but we have some clarity on the Celtics' next game, Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Milwaukee will play at 1pm Sunday. Either Game 7 against the Bulls, or (much more likely) Game 1 in Boston. pic.twitter.com/KFiLg7pTmB

BOS in 3

Glad to see the 5 game series return!

Nah, it'll be just like the Nets series.

After 3, we'll know this show is OVER.

Oh va  ;)

I respect Giannis too much. He makes any series difficult. But, the potential absence of Middleton is pretty big. That guy traditionally kills the Cs. Bucks also have a way better supporting cast than the Nets. So going to say Cs in 6.

I just think that without Middleton, the celtics will be too much for the Bucks to handle. Also, even with Middleton I think the Celtics win the series. The bucks just arent the same team as they were last year, and the celtics are a much better team than they were.

Timelord will be huge in this series. hopefully he is able to get more chemistry and footing back with the week off. He was somewhat rusty and off with his timing in the Nets series

If Milwaukee closes their series tonight or in Game 6, Game 1 is Sunday 1 PM EST (ABC).

If Chicago miraculously forces Game 7, then BOS vs. MIL/CHI Game 1 is Tuesday 7:30 PM EST (TNT)

Looks very very likely Game 1 is Sunday afternoon as has been speculated in the past two days

I never thought they were a title favorite. Did you?

There were posts and posts over how we wanted to avoid the Nets because they were so much better than CHI or TOR.  Now it is yeah we swept them but they weren't that good anyway?  I don't know if BKN was ever the title "favorite" but that doesn't mean the Celtics didn't just close out a really good team 4 times in 4 close games.

I will agree that it is hard to know exactly what this says about how good the Celtics are because it is hard to know how good the Nets really are.  Or specifically what this says about the Celtics' ability to close out games against MIL or MIA.  We did have the toughest first round match up by far of the top teams, and we were able to sweep.  I saw the Celtics close out a good team in 4 straight games so I find it hard to conclude that the Celtics "are still not good at closing out good teams".  Good teams are hard to close out, even for other good teams.

This has been a strange season in that as you watch the Celtics keep winning, it is always something.  They had an easy schedule.  They caught teams that had key injuries.  I admit that it never felt to me that he Celtics were fully the team that their record through the hot streak implied, and I think others felt the same.  Then they sweep the Nets and it was like, did the Nets give up?  Were the Nets not together as a team.  Were the Nets not as good as we thought?  The Celtics pull up 4 huge wins against a good team and it is still hard to be convinced.

Has the round 2 schedule been posted? I also assume Game 1 sunday is contingent on Bucks winning tonight?

Yeah I posted it a few replies above. If Bucks win in 5 or 6, 1 PM Sunday. If not (it goes Game 7), then Game 1 of BOS vs. CHI/MIL is Tuesday night

All right, I'll be the first. Unless this team turns back into the "win every game by 20" end of the season Celtics, I have Milwaukee in 6. Giannis is unstoppable, even with TL in there. Jrue Holiday scares the you-know-what out of me. Even without Kris "Celtics-I'll-kill-you-until-you-are-dead" Middleton, they have some quality around Giannis.

I also think that the NBA sees Giannis as its next generational talent and doesn't want him out in the second round.

Celtics played strong D against Brooklyn, but the Nets weren't nearly as good as the Bucks and we won 4 games by a total of what, 16 points? That's a margin of error that the Bucks could easily flip.

If we get by Milwaukee, we can book an eventual date with Golden State.
