I live in Texas and have never been to Boston.  I have been a Celtic fan since 1974.   Finally, I am going to my first Celtic home game on Sunday.  Beyond excited.  Ready to be loud and proud.  Can anyone provide some good going to the game pointers and eating recommendations.  Thanks!!!

Congrats on going to the game!   Wish I could offer a specific North End restaurant but haven't been in so long... but I bet someone here can recommend one.  The Fours used to be a popular spot right near the Garden, but closed recently and I don't know what (if anything) took its place.  Since you have a 3:30PM game, good opportunity for a good walk in the morning or on Saturday - Boston Common and Public Gardens, Newbury St, Charles St, Back Bay, Govt Ctr - to Faneuil Hall if you want.  My wife and I used to drive in early Sunday AM and walk the Public Gardens and then the hilly streets off of Charles St and then sit down for coffee and croissant (or whatever) at the bakery on Charles (can't recall the name).

I haven't been to a playoff game since mid-1980's - Celtics-Bucks.   Absolutely the most exciting live sports event of my life.  Garden was hot back then - no AC, what an amazing experience. You'll have a fantastic time -- bring home a win!!

But regardless of food, Nick nailed it.  What an exciting experience you are

Tp to Gbone and Nick. I've never asked for others to give a TP to another poster. But can we show Gbone some serious love here.

. This is going to be Epic for Gbone!!!

Thanks for all the great replies.  Especially yours, Nick.  I sent your post to make my friends jealous. I will land in Boston at 1:46 today.  Gonna get some chowder for lunch!

Roy, I am sitting in the nose bleed section for $125.  I don’t want to have any voice left when I leave the game!  I will be with my 30 year old son and his mates.  Should be an off the hook experience.  Once in a lifetime fun.

I love Anna's Taquería, but I would assume you got some good places like that down in Texas. But good place for a quick meal in the afternoon. It has various locations.

I used to go to the Harvard location one often while I was in college, not sure if it's still there. But that one was called Felipe's Taquería, from same family I reckon. I love the Super Burrito and the Quesadillas are good too.

When I was at BC, we used to go to the one in Coolidge Corner (RIP, I think?).  Then when I moved to Somerville after undergrad, I used to hit up in the one in Porter Square at least once a week.

Super Carnitas was my go-to.  Man, I miss living near Anna's.

Congratz and welcome to our city! AS Roy said Guy Fieri's Mexican Cocina is great value. Grill 23 has an amazing wine list to go with the steaks. If you want something that has a bit more of a party atmosphere to celebrate either pre or post game Bodega Canal on Canal St has more of a club feel to it. For the opposite - dive bar, and arguably more Boston - experience check out Sullivan's, also on Canal St right near Causeway. Just a note: last drinks in Boston is usually at 1.30 then they kick you out 20 min later. Have fun!

Cheering for Kyrie would throw him off more.

I'd add another vote for Sullivan's Tap before the game.

I like this too.  I think anything that feels unexpected to Kyrie is a good thing.
