I would have preferred facing the bulls without timelord, then with the squad at its full capability what we've seen after the all star break can (or it's likely to) win against every team.
facing the nets in this condition on the other hand can give us a lot of confidence for what's next, if we win
I think we are a better team but they have more talent, and apart from kyrie and kd, they have an advantage in low post with drummond and claxton... tough series for both

Celtics are playing their best basketball.  I feel they will win in 6 games.  Nets are obviously dangerous but the Celtics will be aware of that.

I don't see the Bulls winning a single game in the playoffs.

(1) Even at their best, they are not that good of a team. A good but not great squad.

(2) They are not at their best. They do not have Lonzo who is one of their top players. His ability to influence the game without needing large amount of shot attempts is super-valuable next to shot-happy players like DeRozan, LaVine and Vucevic. Chicago misses Lonzo badly.

(3) Chicago is a poor defensive team especially without Lonzo. Playing DeRozan at PF is tough for your team D. Playing Vucevic as your defensive anchor is tough on your team D. This is not a team constituted / built to succeed in a playoff environment. This is a regular season team.

Milwaukee is going to wipe the floor with this Bulls squad.

My bearish scenario is the Celtics going down 2-1 and then coming back to win the series in 7, but I think the Celtics can win in 6. I wanted to win out the season to maintain momentum and I’m fine with playing the Nets. I think a series win would instill new confidence in our young team that we can beat anyone, and it would mean more in battle with the Bucks than beating a weak Bulls team.

We'll be seeing the Bulls in the second round after they knock off Milwaukee in 6.

I'd have expected this comment more from someone who had a user name like the one you replied to.   ;D

  ;D

Milwaukee has a losers mentality. I simply think that karma is going to come back and bite them in the butt.

Okay, I don't actually think that, but wouldn't it be nice?

Back on track, I think we're going to win in 6, but I'll still feel a lot better if/when I see us win the first game.

That Milwaukee vs Boston 2nd round series looks like the one that will decide the East. Whoever wins that wins the East.

I don't think either Miami or Philly (or Toronto) is good enough to beat either Boston or Milwaukee in a 7 game series.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Toronto in the ECF. More physical than Philly, more spry than Miami. It could be any of the 3.

I'm starting to get excited now for the playoffs. Some fun matchups and the C's have a very good shot at making the Finals. C's are either the favourite or 2nd favourite team in the East.

It's going to be fun.

Boston Celtics (2) vs. Brooklyn Nets (7)

Jerry Bembry: Nets in 6

Nick Friedell: Nets in 7

Kirk Goldsberry: Celtics in 7

Israel Gutierrez: Celtics in 7

Richard Jefferson: Nets in 7

Tim Legler: Celtics in 7

Andrew Lopez: Nets in 7

Bobby Marks: Celtics in 7

Dave McMenamin: Nets in 7

Kevin Pelton: Celtics in 7

Omar Raja: Nets in 7

Jorge Sedano: Nets in 7

Ramona Shelburne: Celtics in 7

André Snellings: Celtics in 7

Marc J. Spears: Nets in 7

Ohm Youngmisuk: Nets in 6

Final tally: Nets 9, Celtics 7.

The majority of the ESPN media is predicting the Nets to win; even the media picking the Celtics are predicting 7. It’s tough to go against the KD and Kyrie tandem especially in the 1st round, but this is the season.

The Celtics are juggernauts. The #1 Defense, a Top 10 Offense, superior depth, excellent versatility, chemistry, and 2 young stars with playoff experience. We’re going to steamroll Brooklyn and it’s going to get ugly. They’re going to punch and the counterpunch will be harder.

My prediction is Celtics in 5 and a possible 6 out of respect for the brilliance of KD and Kyrie.

So I heard that Vegas was actually giving money away when the lines just came out.  Apparently Caesars had the Nets as favorites while everyone else had the C's and there was a 2 hour window where you could have bet 1k on the C's and1k on the Nets and been guaranteed to make 150 bucks if you played the lines correctly.  Shame I missed it.

If Ben Simmons plays over 30 minutes, that means Bruce Brown sits.
...I think that is a win for the Cs.   Bruce Brown is giving the Nets a really good chemistry.

As for BS improving the Nest defense;  I'd imagine you can set picks on Simmons and avoid a Simmons vs Tatum

We will win this series. If Simmons plays, we win it faster.  We were minus Brown last year and Tatum still rose to another level. This year, we are so much better and now Brown is healthy too.

Kyrie will be crying soon enough.

When I created the poll I said and voted Nets in 6.

But I'm actually going to change it. I'll say C's in 6. I believe in this team and think the Nets can be had  :)

Still won't be easy though. Got to start the series off strong and we definitely need to make the clutch plays in the close games.

My only concern in this series is if the iso-heavy Nets offense lures the Celtics into playing the same way.  The Nets defense has no chance of keeping up with the Celtics when the ball pops around.  But if KD and Kyrie start making a bunch of iso jumpers, my worry is that our guys try to do the same thing, which will let the Nets off easy.

I haven’t seen them go iso-crazy in months, but the stress of the playoffs may give a chance for those bad habits to show themselves.  Udoka has been very quick with timeouts lately to redirect the team when things aren’t going to plan, and I hope that he doesn’t change that in the playoffs.
