Why is Pritchard not getting more minutes ?

He has been shooting much better as the season has gone along. He had 3 straight against the Nets in game 3 (?) and gave us a big boost. Is the problem his defense ? Is he that bad - I am not local and didn't order the pass this season (who knew?) so I didn't see every game down the stretch to be able to judge his defense.

Durant was hunting Derrick White with great success. Can't imagine if Payton were out there for those possessions.

The Nets' iso-heavy style of offense was a bad matchup for him.  His defense is decent now, but 'decent' isn't something you want to put on Kyrie for very long.  And given that Kyrie and KD were both playing 40+ minutes every night, that didn't leave a lot of opportunity to get Pritchard into the game.

I'd expect that he'll have an opportunity for a larger role against Milwaukee.  The Bucks give up a lot of outside jumpers, so Pritchard could seriously hurt them if he's used properly and hitting his shots.

So I've been making the rounds on the social medias, blogs and whatnot.

And you know what's surprised me the most?

People saying we're likeable.

For some reason I always thought people loved to hate us. Might be due to KG/Rondo/Pierce not being universally liked.

But the love between Bucks and Celtics fans seems kinda real, with a lot of them saying that if they lose, they'd gladly root for the opposing team.

Apparently, WE'RE LOVEABLE NOW.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A lot of opposing fans really like a lot of our players.  Smart is polarizing because some people think he toes the line of being dirty, but everybody else is well-regarded in other fanbases.

People still love to hate the Boston Celtics but I think it's mostly just a fans-versus-fans thing.  Not fans hating our players so much.

People have historically hated the Celtics because we won more championships than anyone - from Russell's first in '57 thru Bird's last in '86, we won 16 titles in 30 NBA seasons with three separate groups of players. The Celtics won over half of the available titles.

Plus, you had Red Auerbach, who we love, but who, to rival fans, was just this arrogant jerk running our franchise who would do anything short of breaking the law to gain an advantage over the rest of the league. He delighted in firing up those Macanudos towards the end of wins and didn't care who despised him for it.

Celts have never really had a lot of bad guys or villians - we just had better players and Red was great at building championship groups, one after another after another. And he built the teams thru the draft and a few select trades, not by getting all the best players to come work his summer camp so they could become best friends and jump on the same team to steal a title.

I think people really hate the Nets so that helps the Celtics.

Bucks fan site hate Marcus Smart, call him a flopper.  Worried that we are going to flop Giannis into foul trouble.

Fun fact: Jayson Tatum recorded 22 deflections (5.5 per game) against the Nets, which is No. 1 among players in the postseason.

Anyone else find it funny that analysts are talking about how others built a wall to contain Giannis and how the Celtics need to replicate? Didn’t we create that in 2019? Like... this exact team ?

Pretty sure Horford is one of the original Giannis-troublers (I hesitate to use the term stopper). We don't have Semi anymore to throw a brick wall at him, but we have a lot of defensive weapons + we don't have to gameplan for Khris "MJ" Middleton
