Never in my life have I heard of the "you're allowed to give the opponent a high five and it's not a foul" call before. New one on me. Hit the hand, it's a foul. That's what I thought.

I have literally seen that called a foul thousands of times in my years watching basketball.

Is that a new rule?

Or is it a foul and Doncic just got the superstar call?
It is 100% not at all a rule. Utter nonsense.

Does anybody think the contact on smart’s hand had any effect on the shot? The ball was already gone. I would’ve liked the free throws but I don’t think that should be a foul.

Yeah, it affects the follow through...

Idk, I’d have to see it again, but my recollection is that when the ball left his hand Doncic had not touched him yet. Any contact after that might have affected his arm motion, but since the ball is gone (I think, a few feet gone) no way for that to affect its flight.

It's been a foul up until today. The idea is to protect shooters from contact while in a helpless position. It's not about whether or not the shot is away. The 3 is a delicate shot. You can't power your way through contact like you might at the rim. Knowing you're about to get hit throws everything off.

But all of a sudden i guess we're back to 1980's rules.

The problem is they REGULARLY call those fouls live every single game. It's the inconsistency that's maddening.

Overachieving mavs team? Maybe. Unfortunately they are a better team than the Celtics and beat us every time we play them..and unfortunately luka>Tatum
I wouldn't go that far. They're hot, and the Celtics missed a lot of open shots.

And the Celtics and Tatum haven’t been just “hot” ?
The only legit team at full strength they have beat during this stretch is the grizzlies. Mavs have the slightly better record mainly because they beat us twice.

C’s shot 9-37 from 3 and still should have won the game. That’s kinda impressive.

Just wait. They're going 4-0 out West. I'm calling it now.

Lolol not sure how you deduced that.

We are more talented. Dallas will get exposed for their lack of physicality and their lack of a second scorer. They'll be out in the first round barring a major ref fix job

Refs were terrible, our shooting was terrible, Ime wasn’t great.

Entertaining game, but crappy result.

Looking forward to watching the KG ceremony.  Wash the stink out of this.

Observations : Ceremony games suck. Losing combination : Keep chucking up 3's at 24.3% and have only 16 assists. Other than Dinwiddies two daggers, the key turning point was Tatum's turnover with 1:36 to play. At that juncture, we had a chance to go up 5 or 6. Maddening turnovers. Grant is in a mini-slump, shooting 1 for 14 3's in his last 4 games. In addition to White's horrendous shooting lately, he has a grand total of one assist in his last two games. The Celtics aren't genuine contenders with a bench of White, Pritchard and Grant. Theis isn't even in the rotation any more.

Please lord let some decent player or 2 get bought out and want to play here. We need some serious bench help. Grant hasnt hit a shot in 4 games it feels like and Pritchard is not an elite shooter for how bad his defense is so he shouldnt be out there. White im iffy about. He has a game where you go wow hes legit and then the next 2-3 games hes a no show.
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

The mavs are better than us.

Dude the Mavs have a zero percent chance of winning a title. Not only are they not better than us but they are not top-10 in the league. Their lack of physicality will get exposed and they are doomed.

They move the ball around nicely but that will be harder in the playoffs. They're a "regular season team" and will get exposed as such when the pressure is on.
